WE HAD A VERY NICE HOLIDAY IN ALTINKUM, THE APARTMENT THAT WE STAYED IN WAS
EXCELLENTLY LOCATED AND BEING NEXT TO THE HUNER HOTEL WAS GOOD AS WE HAD THE
USE OF THEIR POOL AS WELL AS OUR OWN, WE SPENT A LOT OF TIME JUST CHILLING OUT
ON THE ROOF TERRACE WHICH WAS VERY RELAXING AND PRIVATE WE ALSO MADE FRIENDS
WITH NEXT DOOR WHO WERE TURKISH. EXCELLENT FOOD AND CHEAP TO EAT OUT.
ALL IN ALL AN EXCELLENT HOLIDAY DESTINATION HOWEVER THE STEPS DID GET A BIT
TIRING AS IT IS THE TOP FLOORS, NOT REALLY FOR SMALL CHILDREN
THE LOCATION IS PERFECT RIGHT NEAR THE MAIN SQUARE AND BEACH. THERE WAS A JAQUZZI BATH AND THE ROOF TERRACES ARE LOVELY ESPECIALY THE ONE WITH BARBEQUE
The Esra Apartments are very nice - we had a studio room and was pleasantly surpised when I saw it. I wasn't impressed however with the fact that they charge £30 a week for air conditioning. They have a theme night practically every night, Karaoke, belly dancing, film nite (I saw Priates of the Carribean 3). The staff are friendly but do be aware that if your daughter is aged 15+ the waiters will flirt with them big time. There are 3 pools one with 3 slides which are quite fun, it's also local enough for the Main beach, you can get a dolmus to the other 2 which run every 10 mins. The shop down the bottom of the road is much cheaper than the one at the hotel so buy your water etc there - Oh and it's true that they do not supply toilet paper - once you've run out it's up to you to buy another!! but you can buy a single roll for about 30p - all said and done I would still reccomend Esra and would still go back there.
There is a games room at Esra - 2 pool tables, 2 play stations, 2 internet computers and a ping pong table all for 5 TYL for 1/2 hour (about £1.60) A big screen by the pool where they show a (lastest) film once or twice a week. A hair salon where you can have a Turkish shave, haircut or get a french maincure. the manicure cost 2TYL - under a pound!
When we arrived at the hotel there were people waiting to great us! Ready to sort out the check-ins and taking cases to our rooms!
One of the boys fought with both suitcases trying to get them in the lift for us! But even when we were on our floor he still wouldnt let us take them! he took hem into our room then left us to inspect everything!
Our room was very nicely decorated with a pretty picture on the main wall! There was two beds which had the towels placed on them! There was a big double warderobe with deep drawers! A beside table, and a desk with a big mirror above it, a small drawer and a TV on it! (All the channels are in Turkish but very addictive when you start watching the dramas!)
The balcony was quite small and the view wasnt the best but it was big enough for the 2 chairs they provided on it!
The bathroom was very basic with the shower just being a lil step down from the main floor! but we could cope with it!
Everytime we went downstaires which took us a while to as we were on the 3rd floor everyone who worked there smilied and said hello!
The guy who sorted out our luggage asked us how we were everyday and was genuinely friendly to us, making sure know one was bothering us etc!
The one thing i could only complain about was the cleaning service!
The cleaners didnt go into our room everyday, i knew this as the state i often left it in was the same when we returned, so that meant my bed wasnt made. i wasnt too bothered about that but it was the fact they didnt clean the bathroom or supply us with toilet roll!
So somedays we had to buy our own, which i dont think is right as it should be expected from the hotel!
We were once that desperate for toilet roll we nicked one from one of the bars!!
I would reccommend it to everybody else as it was a lovely hotel and the staff were lovely people, its just a shame the cleaners tarnished it!
Our view wasnt brilliant as we had a empty hotel opposite us but we didnt pay for a view so what could we expect!
