 | Antalya Reviews | Tips 81 - 90 of 128 | | We booked 6 days at the Kiris Alina Beach hotel and 5 days at the Sheraton Voyager Antalya in July 2004. The Sheraton is a super class hotel that provides high level of service and attention to their guests. Unfortunately unlike the Kiris Alinda Beach.. What were the problems? 1. The worst was the air-conditioning system - The hotel is saving operational costs! At daytime, from 06:00AM to 10:00PM the air-conditioning systems in the rooms are OFF as a hotel's policy!!! Actually, to be accurate, the management is activating the room climate system from time to time for very short intervals, also at day time. The rooms' climate control mechanism is out of use (can't be used by the guests!) the management is turning on the air-conditioning system at night (at 10:00PM) and set it to a temperature they wish. 2. Another brilliant Kiris Alinda Beach hotel idea is to provide the guests with just ONE key for the room - if you're with a partner - you should look for her/him all day long to control when he/she is at the room or out from the room. Don't misunderstand this - the hotel DOES NOT provide a second key 3. Next invention - the beach/swimming pool - you may provided with JUST ONE towel per guest against a card you'll get from the reception at check in- if you lose the towel or not return the towel card to the reception - you are subject to penalty. More than that - towel can be changed only two (or may be three) times a week!! 4. The hotels' standard rooms are small - about half the size of the Sheraton's Voyager Antalya standard rooms size. Similarly is the bed's size 140x190cm vs 180x200cm 5. Drinks - The All Inclusive drinks, such as the Turkish Ayran, Tomato/Orange Juice etc. are out from any reasonable level - the Ayran is just undrinkable white water, similarly the tomato juice (red water) and the Orange juice. The beer (Efes Pilsen) and Cola (Pepsi) was OK. 6. Food Breakfast is very basic. Dinner and lunch are fair with large selection. Not Gourmet but you will not starve. This is a 5 star hotel located on Konyaalti beach. The travel agent (and various people) swore it was near to the city but it is actually about a 2 hour walk into Kaleici. YOu can get a dolmus or a cab but I prefer walking so that was a bit rough. Anyway , the hotel is okay, it has lots of amenities, like indoor and outdoor pools, bar (very smoky) sauna (didn't use it) etc . It is a huge hotel popular with various people on congresses etc. not really my style but it came with the package deal. The food was a bit institutional for my taste and we skipped dinner one night since we were out of town. If you intend to stay around the hotel I'm sure it's fine, just beware of all the smokers. If you can get just a flight then maybe it's better to be further into town like Falez or Hillside Su but those were more expensive deals than ours. I booked 2 weeks in April 2005 for a family holiday direct with the hotel, as I wanted to be assured of service in the manner of the Marriott Hotel group. Unfortunately we found that the hotel does not live up to its name. We arrived as the hotel was moving out of the low season and were paying £100 per night for a suite with half board. The hotel receives many Russians on all-inclusive tours. The problem is that, at least in the off-season, they have paid very small money (£30 per night per room) yet get much more from the hotel as they have all drinks included. I could live with this but the hotel charges high bar prices making an evening of drinking extremely expensive. A large beer is £4, a fresh orange juice the same price and spirits and wines are predictably astronomical. There are a couple of bars outside the hotel but they are not up to much. The restaurant food is generally good but we found that the choice declined during our stay, then miraculously become good one weekend when directors of the franchise company were staying at the hotel. My main problem however was the management’s inability to deal effectively with a simple complaint. A point came when I felt the quality of the evening meal had deteriorated too far to go without comment and I discussed the matter with the food and beverage manager, after which I understood as part of compensation my wife and daughter would receive complimentary fresh orange juice with meals. This should not be an issue as other guests received free juice anyway. What I found however on subsequent days was that this agreement related only to breakfast, and then to a rationed limit of one glass. Further meetings with the manager just left me fuming, as agreements made would later be found to come with strings attached. A hotel in the Marriott group should have been able to resolve my problem without fuss but unfortunately their inability to deal with simple issues was a demonstration of how the hotel is not of Marriott standard. | | | | Ring Hotel Antalya: Don't Bother
| | | | |
I can't remember 100% if this was the hotel we stayed in, though from the reviews I've read on other sites, it has the same feel: poor service, a bit run down for a four-star hotel. If this is the place we stayed, the air conditioning in our room didn't work and we asked the desk staff repeatedly to have it fixed. I'm not sure it ever was. It became about the principle of the thing after a while. Anyway, if you can avoid staying here, it might be best, though it wasn't all that bad a place to stay overall. | | | | Rixos Hotel Premium: Best hotel in Belek
| | | | |
Hi, I recomand you Rixos Premium in Belek. It's a little bit expensiv then any other hotel in Belek, but wonderful. It has it's own huge aquapark built in the style of Troia town. There are a lot of water slides, a Troian Horse 24 m high with 4 waterslides, two of them been covered were you are sliding in blind and complete darkness, as black holes and the other two uncovered, a boat, a restaurant, kamikadze slides, lazzy river, waves pool, etc. The hotel is bulid on the largest area among all the hotels from Turkey, covering about 400,000 sqm, 40ha. It has it's own artificial lake on which you can move from a place to another by troian boats drived by troian citizens dres ed in troian clothes. Stayed one week as two families on the last week of October 2006. All inclusive new building-2 yrs old-, luxury, nice architecture and decoration, neat and clean. Excellent pools and garden design. Food was of best quality and plenty of choices.İnternational food and mostly English and Dutch clients. Very good aquapark and a small but satisfactory children's lunapark. Due to the location, temp was around 25-27'C and not windy, so could swim and get a nice tan. The beach is partly pebbly, still that is one of the best sandy beaches of Antalya region.there was a lot of good shades for summer and a sunbathing deck on the sea. Very tasty 'gözleme' (Turkish pastry) prepared instantly near the beach by local women were addictive. The hotel was little busy for this time of the year, though due to the design of the garden-lots of different species of plants and palm trees-it was not disturbing at all.
Quality of food and drinks was excellent for an all inclusive hotel of that price. Very close to the airport-15 mins. Close to the town center and many historical places in the area. I had made a confırmed e-maıl reservatıon for one nıght, and after a short dıpute--a space behınd a blanket ıs not a room--I got my sıngle room wıth outsıde bathroom for 15 Euros. It was a 3 bedroom on ground level, so the people passıng by--I don;t use AC whıch mıght have helped shut out some of ıt--sounded as ıf they were walkıng through my room. Add to that the open aır dısco from the nearby marına. The place had a famılar feel to ıt though--ıt's pretty popular and I lıked that the guys workıng there weren't on my neck to sell me somethıng as ıs the mode ın Antalya, and breakfast ın the garden to the street was excellent and ıncluded ın the prıce, wıth fresh water melon, Turkısh cheese, egg, olıves, veggıes bread and tea. I left because ıt was noısy and I found somethıng cheaper. All rooms have AC, towel ıs gıven, everythıng clean, my room only had a coat hanger and smelled a bıt moldy--the clımate ıs hot and humıd whıch doesn't go well wıth carpetıng, and the wındow couldn't be closed. They have a moskıto screen.
It's less than 5 mınutes from the seasıde park, and the rooms on the upper level had balcony and attached bathrooms, are of course more expensıve. They have ınternet ( for 4 LR--outsıde of oldtown close to hadrıan's gate ıt's only 1 Lıra) The garden next to the hotel ıs to the street, nıce to just hang out and watch the passers by.
