Hi all,
I am delighed to have found this site, my friends and I booked antalya a week ago, booked flights and 2 weeks in all inclusive corinthia excelsior. i since have found nothing on-line about the hotel and am getting worried!
Does anyone know this hotel or stayed there? if so what is it like? is it far from the nightlife? Is the food and drink okay?
Really interested in hearing tips of where we should go out, eat and where we should see, we're staying for 2 weeks in mid-august, we are all mid-20's.

hi susan,
one of my friends stayed there last year... he didnt make any negative comment about the hotel. additionally, corinthia is a well-known hotels chain. most probably you ll like it and have a good time. the location is good but not central as far as i know a bit far from night life. "Side" is the night life center of the area. it is not very far from Manavgat.

thanks a million for yer help, I have stayed in the Corinthia Towers before in Prague and loved it, I was jsut getting really worried as there was no reviews on line, on sites like trip advisor etc..
When you say its a bit far out of Side, around how far away would it be? are taxis expensive? Does everywhere take euros?
Is it dangerous over there at all?
SOrry these are all really basic questions but as I said we are going there completely blind! have bought two travel guides with feic all on them about antalya...

1... yes everywhere take euros..
2. manavgat-side 7 km ..taxi price should not be more then 10 euros.

3.bonus info;........ if u have time go and visit Alanya...nightlife is there mate ... especially clubs James Dean and Robin Hood is the well known
Manavgat-Alanya is 75 km... there are buses there ..around 3 euros..

Just some information--There is a tram that goes from close to the Sheraton down to the old town. The cost is 400,000 TL (about 30 cents). It only runs twice an hour. From the Sheraton side it runs on the hour and on the half hour. From the watch tower it runs at 12 after and 42 after the hour.
As for off the beaten track, Turkey in general is off the beaten track for Americans. It is really lovely (not dirty)with kind honest people.
Take a day trip to Myra. Myra has cliff tombs along with the church St. Nicolas was the Bishop of. Both were very powerful sites to see. We then went on to Kekova (a sunken city) seen from a beautiful Turkish yacht.
In small room in Antalya Museum, where Christian Art is exhibited, there are relics of St Nicholas in a small box.
St Nicholas (Noel Baba) was a Christian bishop living along the coast south of Antalya, and from the legend about him comes Father Christmas.
i have been to antalya for about 5-6 days with my wife in october 2000 and we have stayed in kemer palmiye, club med. we recommend all we lived there with all our heart!!!
perfect place for a quiet honeymoon!
