In Turkey you can travel...

In Turkey you can travel around by Dolmus. That are little busses that can transport approximately 20 people at the same time. You can stop the Dolmus on the street whenever you need one and if you want to go out just say it to the driver. It is very cheap (± 250.000 TL) and it is a nice way to taste a little of the Turkish atmosphere! If you have to travel a long way then you can go by touringbus. The busses leave at the busstation in the center of Antalya.

Olimpos Natioal Park - Milli Parki

Although I primarily talk about this in my page for Kemer, which is to the west down the coast and next to Olimpos National Park, it seems wise to mention it here, too. This is a significant national park just SW of Antalya and only a short drive away. It is along the eastern coast of ancient Lycia and has beaches, good hiking in beautiful countryside, including thick forests, overgrown Greek & Roman ruins, and Yanartas, the Chimara, which has flaming natural gas coming out of the rock.

Antalya is a pleasant town , ideally situated for exploring southern Turkey. All around the area are the remains of Romans and other ancient peoples. If you are not into archaeology, there are beaches to relax on.
It has an excellent conference centre to attract international agencies.
