Side
by sandysmith
Side is my favourite destination in this area of Turkey. There are historical sights right in the centre and gorgeous beaches flanking it. It is also between the resorts of Antalya and Alanya so day trips can easily be taken. Many tours also go from Side (2-3 days) to Konya and Cappadocia - if you get the chance don't miss this trip. Book locally its far cheaper!

A visit to the Side is worth...
by Travel_Gal
A visit to the Side is worth taking, although I would recommend going during the spring or the fall. The weather is still pleasant, the swimming is good, but the amount of tourists visiting not as overwhelming. In ancient times, this was the location was where Cleopatra and Marc Anthony met for a romantic 'get-together' and it is still a popular place for couple. While I was there, I did a walking tour of the ruins there. The theatre was closed while I was there, but I was able to see the two temples, of Apollo and Athena. These columns belong to one of them, just can't remember which one.
Best if you like historical ruins

"Day trips out of Antalya"
Antalya itself can be covered in 1-2 days. There's the museum to go, and then there's the city to check out. Nothing much at all. What's good is the availability of day tours in this city. There's a travel agent at every corner that organize tours to Perge, Aspendos & Side. Numerous other tours available as well, but this was the tour I chose.
"Rooftops of Antalya houses"
I like rooftops :)
