RE: Antalya airport to Antalya bus otogar

There is transportation, I used it myself in September 2004 and I think it should still be there. After you exit the airport building (the international terminal into which you arrive) turn right and walk straight to the domestic terminal. From there, there are Havas buses (Havas is an airport service company) once every hour or even more frequently. These buses leave about 30 minutes after each domestic arrival (for example, from Istanbul or Ankara). You can go inside the domestic airport building and check the arrival schedules in the right wing. In the hall on the left there is also an information desk (in Turkish it's called danisma) where the person speaks some English. The bus costs 8 Turkish lira. Say to the driver that you need to go to "Yeni Otogar" and he will drop you off right across the road from its building. The trip takes an hour or maybe even more because first he drives all across Antalya with some stops. So you can do without a taxi.

600 years old Turkish Bath SEFA

by marsistanbul

In terms of bathing culture, however, not much has changed since Ottoman times. After undressing cabins around the camekan, the entry courtyard, and wrapping in the PESTEMAL,a colourful checked towel, the visitor proceeds through the SOGUKLUK,a room of moderate temperature,to the HARARET,the steamy hot area of the bath. This marble clad central room of the bath is covered by a dome with round glass openings that allow daylight to fall inside in a beautiful pattern.
The walls are ringed with individual marble basins where bathers wash themselves. The center of the HARARET is occupied by a large platform(GOBEK TASI),where the hamam attendant treats visitors to an exfoliating body scrupy mitt(KESE) and an invigorating,if not occasionally rough, massage afterwards..

SEFA HAMAMI is an other unique 600 years old Historical Turkish bath in Kaleici(citadel)
It is not a place for touristic spots,it is an authentic Turkish bath.
You can also have in there soap, oil massage and peeling.
Turkish bath:13 YTL
Peiling(KESE):5 YTL
Soap massage:6 YTL

Kaleici - old town

by mvtouring

I loved walking around the Kaleici area, which is filled with old restored Ottoman houses that now serves as pensions, hotels, restaurants or souvenir shops. Many tourists stay here, but we were staying way off on the other side of town so just came here for a tour by ourselves which we enjoyed tremendously. The best thing for me was to discover the little back streets and see where they lead and what they have to offer. You always discover interesting things when you get lost, but somehow one always finds your way back to the main streets.

MUSEUM OF ANTALYA

An Outline Of the History of Antalya

The Antalya Region has been subject to settlement since the Paleolithic (Stone) Ages. Since there are names of this region in the Iliad legend of Homeros, it is clear that this region housed an indigenous settlement, called Pamphilia, around 1200 B.C. The region was ruled later in history by the Lydian Kingdom, the Persians and Alexander the Great. The Western part of Pamphilia was acquired by king Attalos II. of Pergamon in the 2nd Century B.C. Attalos founded as a port on the western coast of the Mediterranean sea, naming it Attalia, the present derivation of this name is Antalya. The city was bequeathed to the Roman Empire by Attalos III., after the death of Attalos III., and to Byzanthium at the beginning of the 4th century A.D. During the Middle Ages the city was a Byzantine stronghold and an important embarkation point for troops going to Palestine during the Crusades. After the Seljuq ruler Kay-Khusraw gained control over the city in 1207, the Turkish-Islamic period began. The region was ruled later on, towards the end of the 14th century, by the Ottoman empire. The city continued through all periods to serve as an important port in the southwestern region.

Romantic Ruins and Breathtaking Sights

by Travel_Gal

Located on the Meditteranean, the city of Antalya is a beautiful city, and surrounded by countryside and historical sites. The details in the ruins of places like Side, Termessos, Perge, Aspendos are amazing, and worth taking the time to explore. The photo is one of the Temples located in Side (just can't remember if it was Temple of Apollo or Athena).
