Xandu Resort Hotel.
THIS is PARADISE on earth !!!
This hotel is just unbelievable. It is very expensive but worth every cent ... I'll be back ...
EVERYTHING is outstanding...
If you stay on the motorway side its very noisy from 6am until 10 am your sleep can be affected. The back of the hgotel by contrast is peaceful and it overlooks the pools and gardens. The hotel also has a turkish bath in the basement.
I was staying in a Hotel named Ofo (Lara District) a quarter outside the Center of Antalya. It is a hotel with five stars but I don't think thats worth it. It was nice and clean and had a lot of facilities (indoor and outdoorpool, hamam, beautycenter, hairdresser, fotoshop etc.) but everything is a little old fashioned. (I can imagine that it was a great hotel in the fifties!) In the neighbourhood the Hotel is located in you can only find other hotels and a few (two) little bars. So if you are looking for action you better can stay in the Center of Antalya!
The prices of the drinks etc. in the hotel are very expensive. There is a little supermarket in front of the hotel where you can buy your drinks, sneak them into the hotel (beware of the security!) and keep them cool in the minibar!
The hotels does not differ from most when it comes to organized travelling. Beware of damp rooms and complain if you get one. There's allways one spare for those who are not satisfied. Other than that you'll find the hotels and rooms quite like the ones in Greece, chartertrip standard style.
We stayed in the 5 star Adonis Hotel whcih was very nice. Our rooms were really quite large and spacious and there was a choice of fan or freezing air con! The floors and bathrooms were all marble which was nice and cooling, and the rooms were kept nice and clean.
I don't know hoe much it was as I was working and it was all paid for us but I expect it was quite expensive.
It has a nice clean outdoor pool with pool bar. I didn't eat in the restaurant in the eveing but their breakfast was really good with loads of choice. It also has a nightclub and a very expensive bar which is in a great location down the cliff!
The best place to stay in downtown Antalya is the historical Old City where you can stay at a nice cosy inexpensive pension or a luxurious old Ottoman mansion.
We stayed in Aspen. It has good service and nice location but rooms are small. Food is not great but satisfactory. I recommend you to dine out.
We stayed at the Club Asteria in Belek. As I was warned this is not really a taste of Turkey. However it was a fantastic 5 star facility experience with every thing on site that the holiday maker could want. Ideal for families and for travellers who want a safe protected environment. The enetertainment was excellent and a credit to the multi-lingual animators who put on the shows every night. The 400 or so rooms are set in two story buildings all aroung the the extensive grounds. Your door opens out on to flowered pathways, extremely lush and well looked after.
The free form pool was fanatastic plus a separate kiddies pool with slide. The gardens opened out on to the private blue flag beach.
Kadir's treehouse pension in Olympos
5 USD for a bed in one of those treehouses and a dinner where you can eat as much as you can (which I DID, you can be sure);
Club Med Palmiye - Kemer Antalya
First Class Holiday Resort, very attractive if you are into sports, especially sailing and water-ski.
USD 450 per week per person. (Only accomodation)
Above is a picture out of our room window.
It is like an all inclusive type resort. However, you pay for drinks unless you have them at lunch or dinner.
the club is divided into two main parts, the hotel part and the village part named as the villagio.
each part has its own swimming pool, since each of the visitors can use the facilities of the other.
in the hotel part there this big hotel and in the villagio part there are bungalovs where you stay in the hart of the nature, in front of mountains, and next to the sea...
we stayed in the bungalovs and it was so nice...

In Olimpos: Kadir's tree houses are the most exiciting accommadition of the Antalya region. Fancy of sleeping on a tree? Well, houses are located on pine trees and it's really cheap. Good for friendly and exciting memories.... Tel:0090 242 892 1250 web address: www.olympostreehouse.com
