Travel Tips for Antalya

Old City Gate

by Bregman

The entrance to the old city. On one side you'll find the main street with all the stores in it, but once you step to the other side of the wall you will find yourself in another world, wandering in the narrow alleys of the old city.

Antalya - Konya by bus

by chrisvandenbroucke

Take a taxi from Antalya centre to the Otogar (busstation), too far to walk

The bus the 365 km in approximately 7 hours

We didn't know there are almost no stops on the Turkish roads so we didn't bring enough food with us.

Won't happen a second time

I paid 12 million TL per person

2nd Sand Sculpture Festival

by canadiantrav

2nd Sand Sculpture Festival will be held at Antalya Konyaalti Beachpark between June 20 and October 1, 2007. It has been held over til Nov. 30, 2007 ( weather permitting )

The theme of the festival is "1001 Night Tales" and sixty sculptors from fourteen countries will create their works by using 6000 tons sand at an area of 5000 sq.mt. Creations are from the stories of the stories told by Scheherazade that include Ali Baba and the 40 theives, Voyages of Sinbad, Aladdin, etc.

It is opened from 10am until about 10pm and cost;

5 YTL for adults and for students 4 YTL

The most striking examples of Sand Sculpture will be on display for more than three months. Sand Sculpture Art is based on creating gigantic sculpture by use of river sand and water.

The visitors will have the chance to watch special audiovisual shows on the evening after benefiting the sea, sand and sun. Also a great view with the multi-colored light show at night.

"lots of fun learning to be a tour guide"

I joined a training programme for getting a tourguide with the German tour operator travel & personality (http://www.reiseseminare.de). It was a great fun and I really learnt a lot. So I've got the opportunity to start my own tour guid business. My first tours will be with the Swiss tour operator background (http://www.background.ch) to Israel in November and to Liverpool, European Capital of Culture 2008 in Sept. 2008. More coming up soon....

".. where's my group?"

some people might get lost....

"shopping in the old city"

it's just a huge market
