I was not really located in Antalya but in Belek, around
30 minutes from Antalya. My Hotel was the Meritt Arcadia,
a 4 stars hotel.
What I appreciate is, compared to other in - development
countries is the proud that people has for its country and
the efforts that they made to give a good impression.

The ancient city of Limyra is in Antalya province,4 km north-east of the town of Fenike. The city of Limyra was called Zemuri in the Lycian language. It is most probable that the city called Zumarri in the Hittite tablets dated to 2000 B.C. is also Limyra. The city had a prosperous period during Pericles' reign, and became the capital city of the region. The tomb of monument of the King and Heroon(shrine) are among the most important monuments of Limyra, and they give importance to and dignify the Acropolis.
Limyra is one of the most important cities of Lycia, with its five different Necropolises that belong to the late classical period.

Antalya is an old city founded by Attalus II of Pergamum in 1st Century BC, the city was named Attaleia after its founder.
In the old part of the city, you can still see the historical old buildings and structures which once stood for Antalya's pride and beauty.
Saat Kulesi or The Clock Tower is also one of those monuments which are the symbol of Antalya's gloring past.
Antalya- "the Heaven on Earth"
by adema29
"Why "Antalya"?"
It is because Attalos, the king of Bergam, ask his servants to find the "Heaven on Earth" and they stop searching where Antalya is located today.
And because it was found by/for Attalos, the place was called Attaleia and become later Antalya... this is at least what the legend is saying. And of course is a good story to be sold to us, tourists.
"Duden Waterfall"
