The city of Antalya is built...
by emmandtom
The city of Antalya is built along a rocky coastline with the Taurus mountains rising behind. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful and to anyone going to Antalya I would suggest getting away from the city. The city itself is pretty ugly and to full of concrete & pollution. Having said that there is one nice place in the city and that is the old town which consists of a main winding cobbled shop lined street which steeply descends down to the fishing harbour which is lined with restaurants. The main street has other little alleyways winding of it, somewhat like a very intriging maze of carpet and fake watch sellers! This was my favourite place to come in the evening and here I felt somewhat safer than anywhere else in the city.

On the floor of the 100 meter canyon in the district of Manavgat, the stone bridge spanning the small Kopru river is still used today.
This spectacular place is suitable for rafting eight months a year.
Antalya Museum

Terrific collections of antiquities. Not only the typical Greek and Roman-era stuff, but all major periods before and after. The main hall is filled with statues of gods excavated from nearby Perge. If you visit Perge, try to imagine its boring colonnaded streets lined with these statues. Sigh. Other things that caught my attention were caches of gold coins from sunken ships, intricately carved stone sarcophagi (the "garlanded" one is spectacular), and painted statues, i.e. not just bare stone (the color adds a lot to the visual impact). There are 14 different halls so figure on spending 2-3 hours here.

I was very exciting to see and discover of the beauty and mysteries of the submarine world more than 20 years and I always wanted to reach this advanture in my life.
I was sitting and talking with my friends in Antalya and suddenly I said,I want a revolution,I'm going to diving!!!
Ever wanted to know what is like to do a deep scuba dive, but did not have to opportunity to take a lesson.Anyway, very short brief, and then I jumped to the sea..When you dive that you take your own safety into your hands,so I was naturally a little concerned about turning over that responsibility that I did well, and this is where I dived for the first time and absolutely fall in have it.It was very fun,the water was s clean&clear and you can see all the fishes, sea urchins,mussels..
