Stayed at the Cornelia Belek and had a 'Fantastic Holiday'
Booked to stay at the Cornelia for a two week family holiday, our first time in Turkey, a little apprehensive before we booked but after reading some excellent reviews we decided to give it a try, and i'm happy to say we wern't disappointed.
Arrived 3 in the morning tired and ready to collapse into bed but where imediately lifted by the impressive grounds & lobby. Check in went ok, however two other families had problems with room bookings and had to stay in temporary rooms for the first couple of nights. Room very nice (basic room), modern & very clean, & c/w slippers, dressing gowns, minibar (filled daily with beer, coke, fanta, fruit juices & water), free safe & the usual toiletries. Only complaint was; no camp bed as booked for our toddler but after informing the reception we had one within 45mins.
Very large & impressive pool area with three water slides, there are plenty of beds lining the perimeter, majority were taken with the usual early towel on the bed routine but the staff are very helpful and would bring extra beds if non available, hotel beach looked good, plenty of sun beds but we preferred the pool areas and spent most of our time in the childrens park/play area of which the facilities are great, plenty to keep them busy, childrens pool & play area was shaded by a large canopy, great idea as the turkish sun was scorching!
A great variety of food in the buffet resturant for breakfast, lunch & dinner, although for lunch we always went to the pool side restaurant which is well shaded and had a good selection of salad, pizza, burgers etc. Staff were brilliant, no sooner had we finished our drinks they were bringing us another!!
Ther are four a la carte restaurants (need to pre book these) only one we didn't visit was the Turkish one but the other three were all fantastic especially the Hedra fish restaurant as we sat outside over looking one of the pools which was very pleasant. Service is excellent and if ordering a glass of wine they automatically bring you the full bottle and leave it on the table, all inclusive really does mean that at this hotel.
There were plenty of daytime activities in and around the pool area every day but if you didn't want to join in the staff didn't hassle you which was nice. There was also a kids club which seemed really good, they asked if our son wanted to go but we felt he was a bit too young as he was only 2 and a half Evening entertainment was usually very good, the animation team were excellent, there was a mini disco every night followed by the main act, which was the hotels own team putting on some sort of show or an outside act which were always really good.
Our only very small complaint about this top class hotel is that a lot of the staff don't speak english but they are all very friendly and helpful. Also the english were in the minority, there were mostly Germans and Russians but this didn't bother us, though they can sometimes be a bit rude!
Overall we would definately return to the Cornelia as we really did have a fantastic holiday and would recommend this hotel to absolutely anyone especially families with young children.
Cornelia Deluxe Resort has it's own mini aquapark, with three nice waterslides for the young but also for the mature people :) The white is the fastest one, the large one and the snail one. Choose please!! :))
best all inclusive
Just returned from Cornelia Deluxe Resort after 2 weeks from 21 July 2006. This is the best all inclusive hotel we have stayed in ( and we have done quite a few in various country's).Everything about the hotel is 5 star, the staff are very friendly and always smiling. The food in all the resturants was exceptional and all drinks were international brands rather than the local ones normally offered in an all inclusive package. The Galla night (once every 2 weeks) was superb and a great way to end our holiday. We will definitly be returning to the Cornelia Deluxe Resort.
Best holiday ever!!...
We have just returned from a 1 week all inclusive stay at the Cornelia Deluxe hotel in Belek. This turned out to be one of the best hols ever. The hotel staff were great, very friendly and helpful...nothing is too much effort. My little 4 year old boy loved it, there was so much for him to do...kids club, night entertainment, a variety of swimming pools, an abundance of ice-cream that he could eat etc etc. Definitely recommended if you want a stress free break.
Very hard to find better !!t
We spent a truely excellent week in the junior suites at the Cornelia in June. It has taken me some time to write a review because so many people have already extolled praise on this rather special hotel. Every thing that people have said about the very high standards standards of smiling service and cleanlyness is true.In each area of the hotel look out for the 'man in a tie' ..there are a large number of discrete managers who ensure that the even more numerous members of staff are ever attentive to the needs of the guests.
The Cornellia has however caused me one potential future problem. At some time we are likely to stay at others hotels priced within the same range as the Cornelia. It will be human nature to compare these hotels to the high standards set we have recently experenced. I suspect that not many will come anywhere near.
Perfect, just perfect!
Our staying there was excellent! Everything was perfect! Best all inclusive ever! Around 10-12 friends of ours went to Antalya this summer. They all tried all inclusive. But none is like Cornelia's. Also the food is great! Swiming pools are best I've ever seen... The rooms are just great! The beach is almost perfect! It's really really a place where to come and forget about everything else!
Not quite a 5 Star
The main review can be found in the Belek Forum, so this is a brief review.
Booked the Village suites which is an upgrade on the normal hotel room, these have a jacuzzi, and has a pool just outside your patio doors! The room was gorgeous which was split onto 3 levels, a very well presented interior, and very clean! The food was of a very high standard with a varied selection. Mainly aimed at the Germans and Russians but you will still be able to find something you'll like.
Service was excellent and the main pool was very picturesque, there's plenty to do for the active as they have activities for adults going on throughout the day. Not sure about evening entertainment as we only went once, the main place for the evening entertainment is situated outside in an uncovered ampitheatre type area, so if it rains, they might move inside, but I'm not sure.
Gripes would include problems with the door card (had to go back to reception 3 times before I got new cards) and the fiasco of booking Ala carte restaurants! Can only book between 9 and 10am in the citrus bar, and the good restaurants go very quickly! There will be a queue of people before 9am so if you want to book the Tai Pen (oriental) be there for 8.45 to get in the queue as this goes the quickest. Simply becuase it is the best restaurant and not many tables. Fabulous food at all restaurants but the Tai Pen is the best, and also the best chinese food I've ever had!
We don't have children, but we got talking to a 14yr old boy from Grimsby who said there is nothing for him to do, plus there was no other English speaking kids his age at all! His mum kept on getting migraines so we took him under our wing and played pool and cards with him, poor kid!
Would I go back? For a short break of a week, possibly, but I think the Carribbean would still be my favoured destination if money allows!
