Travel Tips for Kas

Kas Sunset

by Erkmen

Sunset is telling you that another nice day at KAs has ended.. A cosy night is waiting for you..

The town kas faces to the south mediterrenean.. And the sunset on the west side can only be seen as the sun going down from the mountains.. But still a nice atmosphere..

LOCAL TOUCH

by FAIRYCHIMNEY

We boarded our minibus for the beautiful drive up the Yasgoz Cayi valley to Arycanda, one of the most beautifully sited cities of the Lycian Confederacy. Here we enjoyed the Delphi-like views, the classical Greek theatre, recently excavated stadium, baths, temple tombs and aqueducts, and met the site’s caretaker who grew a great love for the site he has been looking after for so many years.
If you get there in the spring, go and have lunch in Haci’nin Yeri and eat Goat’s Tandir Kebab.
After lunch, drive to the village of Elmali; a typical Turkish town up in the highlands of the Tauruses, surrounded by cedar forests. The market here is no doubt one of the very few unspoilt ones in the entire area hence this is a real chance to experience an authentic Turkish Market. This area is quite traditional and unspoiled comparing to touristic Mediterranean Coast.

The Lighthouse

by purplekedi

There is a small lighthouse in Kas, where lovers go to make out if they don't have another place or real budget travelers -like we had been- sit and enjoy the sea and the breeze with their beers and canned beans (bought from a deli of course, we couldn't afford otherwise).

It's worth to take a walk there, and perhaps you will anyway, since Kas is a small town and you usually end up seeing everything in a day or two.

It's a good fishing spot to, very early in the morning, but take your mosquito fighting gadgets with you.

Kas beaches.

by Tdiver

No beach as such in town so get a small ferry from the centre of the harbour to Nuri's beach club, Liman agazi, Don Quixote, Onur or Bilal.
Cost is 10 Ytl for the return trip, boats go when you want.

Kas

"Beautiful village of Kas"

There's lots to do while in Kas! Mud-baths, kayaking, diving, visit to Saklikent Gorge, lazing at the beach...just name it! The village of Kas isn't big at all, so you get around everywhere by walking. To participate in the above-mentioned activities, you can either sign up with a travel agency or rent a car/jeep.
