It is an unparalled experience for me to be in a kayak above a 2000 year old village swallowed by the sea. It's grea to know that swimming in the area is prohibited for conservation purposes and the best way to see it really is by kayak. You also get a good core and arm, back and shoulder workout to boot. What could be a better way to spend a day around Kas? My camera was in a boat (Mehmet followed us in a motor boat with all our gear so I wasn't able to have my camera with me while kayaking obviously. The breathtaking photos are all stored in my brain though...unforgettable! Kayak, paddle/s (depending if you do it by yourself or tandem, like I did with Firat) and expert guides if you are a novice

Recommended by Jo and Trish from the Lemon Tree cafe/bar, this was a really enjoyable meal.
We even got to see a sea turtle as we ate and they said they have seen dolphins whilst there.
Food was very good.
In the daytime, it is a beach club. Anything seafood is excellent.
I had the seafood risotto and it was perfect.

Sarcophagus

At the top of the main old street is the Monument Tomb or King's Tomb. It dates from the 4th century B.C. and is carved from a single block. It has eight lines of script in the Lycian language and the lid of the sarcophagus contains 4 lion heads (two on each side).

Kaputas Beach

Probably one of the nicest beaches of Mediterrenean.. The color of the water is amazing..

Kaputas beach ison the way between Kas & Kalkan.. There are minibus servises to the beach each day.. Avoid weekends as its very crowded..

Kas is a lovely natural harbour town, framed by the towering Taurus Mountains, and is located a 25-minute drive from Kalkan - our base for our Turkish holiday in 2007. The town is built around the remains of ancient Antiphellos, and there are ruins of a Hellenistic theatre, the monumental Lion Tomb.
