Ancient Toilets
Some of my friends here on VT have a fascination for toilets so this might be of interest and a must see for them! At the back of the theatre, reached via the agora, is a row of ancient toilets, complete with niches for statues facing the cubicles -the most highly ornamented and best preserved example in Anatolia. Sewers carried away the waste from this establishment, which had a 24-toilet capacity, while in front of the building ran a channel carrying only purified water.
I'm happy to report that the modern toilets are not as open as these!
