We've been to these apartments a few years ago and had a great holiday there. The rooms were a reasonable size but there was no air conditioning then so we had to hire fans. The fridges also didn't have ice boxes but that wasn't such a problem except we'd brought icepops for our young son. The food was Ok at the hotel. The Turkish night was excellent, we've been to Turkey 5 times and this was the best for the quality of the entertainment that night.
It's about 15 to 20 minutes walk along the beach into the old town of Side which is wonderful. There are mini markets very near the apartments and also a pharmacy about 5 minutes walk away.
The tap water is not for drinking as it has a very high mineral content. We've used it for cleaning our teeth with no problems 'cos we don't swallow it!
The food is very good in Turkey and the people so friendly and helpful. Most of the time ice is made using bottled water so there is no problem but this may not be the case everywhere.
I don't think you need any inoculations specially for Turkey but the Foreign Office has the current guidelines posted.
Don't forget your £10 note cash entry visa per person, this even applies to babies. They only take English notes.
Have a brilliant holiday and I am sure you will enjoy Side and the Turkish people.
Cheers,
Wendy

just back!,goodtime by all, turkish night great fun !will not go back though, too many agressive vendors ,waiters pestering my daughter and it is not cheap any more, the apts were the noisiest i have stayed at with two or three discos the OXYD being the worst it has no roof and blasts a horrific earthquake bass into the air untill 4am then the dogs start barking followed by builders on a new apt next door and if i hear thump it up once more iwill explode! the staff are nice though, but dont seem to understand the word shutup! i had to drink myself ito a stupor to sleep,so it was not too bad!

Travel Tips for Side

Side

by ania70pl

Side is a small city about 70 km from Antalya.
The exact date of its founding is not known. In the language of Anatolia "Side" means Pomegranate. From inscriptions it appears that Side dates back to the Hittite Period. The city was constructed on a peninsula and was a Hellenistic and Roman town, protected by city and sea walls. One's attention is particularly drawn to the city gates and walls, as well as many remains of aqueducts which brought water from the foothills of the Taurus Mountains and the surrounding country. The old baths have been restored and turned into a museum, in which are exhibited some of the statues and art treasures found in Side.
