A very friendly little hotel away from the crowds
The Lotus Hotel is a small family-run hotel a few blocks inland from the sea in Side. What it lacks in glamor it makes up for in friendly service and excellent food. The British/Turkish couple who runs it made every effort to help make our brief stay enjoyable. The rooms were good-sized and clean, and the hotel had a nice swimming pool. The highlight was the food. We arrived late in the evening after getting lost (the owner's son talked us in on our mobile phone) and were greeted with one of the best dinners that we had during our month in Turkey. Breakfast was also excellent.
The one drawback to the hotel is that it is not right on the water. However, if you have a car the water is only a few minutes drive away. The beach is also reachable by dolmus.
