Sun, Sea, Sand and Side
Sweeping sandy beaches that shelve gently into the warm water, historical ruins virtually on your doorstep, friendly people and great cuisine. No wonder Side is my most favourite Turkish resort. You don't have to wander too far before you discover the theatre and temples ruins on the headland of Side.
A return visit to Side in April 2009 found Side much changed.
Busier, more touristic, had lost its village feel, not as free and easy when waiters constantly ask if you want to come in for a drink or a meal at their restaurant - not necessary when on an all-inclusive deal. We were glad the hotel was so good, this time around it was more of a relaxing hotel based holiday with a couple of sojourns out for exploring the surrounding area.
