mettemaritc's Turkey 1995
In 1995 me and my husband went to Turkey for the first time.We went to a lovely place at the westcoast: Fucha, which is a little fishingtown, very nice and quite. We had a great time there. We took the local bus into Izmir one day and had a good look around town before we went to the marked. A lokal turk guided us around the hole town.He started talking to me on the bus, when we came very near Izmir city we jumped off the bus and in a taxi with this person.
We went to the local Hammam in Focha when we came back on the local bus. That was like heaven. It is a must to go to a hammam when you are there. You feel 10kg. lighter and 20 years younger.
You should also go to the local cafe's where the locals eat. That is the only place you get the right prices and the real food.
We decided very soon that we had to go back to Turkey.
The next year we went to Chesme. From there we had a 2 days trip up to Pamukkale. That trip is a must. Lots of history. We had a nice swim in Cleopatra's bath.
Our 3.trip,went to Istanbul for 4 days .
There is SO much to see there that I cannot name it all here. (Blue Mosque,Topkapi,Bosporos,The big Bazaar etc.etc.)

Side Turkey 2001
I have had a lovely holiday at Side.
We went there on the 5.of may 2001.We,
that is my husbond,
daughter her 2 children and me.
We stayed at a hotell 1,5 km away from
the antique city. I thought that was perfect.
Good with a little walk every day.
Side is a lovely little town, with lots of history.
I really enjoyed the old amfitheater. The harbor is also very nice.
The weather was not too good when we where there.
We had a bit of thunder and lightning as well as some rain every day,but it was nice and warm.
We went to see the nice mosque and was guided
inside there.
One day we took the dolmus(small bus) in to Manavgat, about 15 min from Side and had a strole round town and along the harbor and had a look at all the boats.
There is one thing you have to do if you go there.
Take a turkish bath at the Park Side hotel. You get it all.
Scrub, foaming and oil massage for 10 pounds. Beside all this the beaches on the west side is very nice.
Lots of nice restaurants in the antique town as well.
