Silence Park Resort Hotel

This is the worst hotel I have ever visited in my entire life!! I spent a week here with my boyfriend in Sep 2007 and it was terrible, the only good thing about the holiday was the weather. We booked the holiday through Teletext via some fly by night company called CHAPA Travel - DO NOT USE THEM THEY ARE A DISGRACE!! They should be called CRAPA Travel!! When we reached the hotel we weren't booked in and there were no rooms available!! We wasted a whole day trying to contact CRAPA CHAPA in England trying to find out what was going on. Eventually we were told we had to get a taxi to Park Side Hotel and when we got there it was one disaster after another. The hotel is not kept very clean and they really only seemed to cater for the German (all inclusive) guests, they didn't have any time for any of the English (paying) guests. All information given out was all in German, which was pretty much the same for the whole resort. We had a drink in the hotel bar (nothing special, just a shack by the pool) a few times but didn't receive a warm welcome from the guests or the staff. It was like stepping back in time when you walked into the bar, people dressed in their 80's clothing! It was like the Twilight Zone! there wasn't much else to do nearby the hotel so we ended up buying drinks from the supermarket downstairs and drinking them on our balcony. There was a nice old man working in that supermarket, the only friendly person in the area!! Watch out for the 2-4-1 happy hour, the sign reads as though it's all drinks but it's only on cocktails which come in tiny little glasses anyway and weren't very good. The reception staff were also pretty useless too, one lady tried to rip us off several times when we changed our English pounds in to Lira, she knew what she was doing though.. The beaches aren't very good here, they are quite sandy but you need to walk up a big dirt track to even get on to it. I would never go back to Side again, let alone to this hotel! If you want somewhere decent to go in Turkey, go to Olu Deniz!!
