Anna in the waterfront ruins at Side
Aspendos
Side is a very old settlement but the oldest significant remains here are Hellenistic. It was at this time quite an important port and city as you may see from the map. Unfortunately not much care was taken about the ruins, even until the 1960-ies the locals used the stones - often white marble of excellent quality - to build their houses.
