Kusadasi!!

by Sam_Kusadasi

Does anyone know what its like in kusadasi? Tyhinking about going in the next couple of weeks! Is there many eating places, shops and bars?
Is there much to do for the children? And what are the people and food like??

turkey sandwich in Turkey?

Eating places? Yes.
Shops? Plenty!
Bars? No.

Children's activities? Not really. The castle on the island will catch their eye, but they'll soon get bored watching the obligatory carpet making demonstration.

Kusadasi!!

Kusadasi offers more than you imagine. It is the town of contrasts: hedonism versus peace, touristification versus contact with the local people...
In Kusadasi you will find hundreds of shops, eating places and bars. Possibilities for excursions to Ephesus, The House of virgin Mary, Pamukkale, Izmir, Priene-Miletos-Didyma...
People are friendly generally speaking. Food is as the same as in Turkey: Many resturants.
But but it is not the best place for children. If you, however chooose, a hotel complex with activities designed for children, it is OK.

Fortress of Kusadasi

by Leipzig

In the opposite of the town of Kusadasi on an isle is the fortress of Kusadasi which can easily be reached by foot. This fortress became famous during the 16th century when it was used as a base for the exploits of the pirate Khair ad-Din better known as Barbarossa.

Kusadasi is one of my favourate places

"my trips to turkey"

I have been to Kusadasi twice and will be going again in sept 2006 it is one of my favourite places in turkey with something for everyone and trips to some of the worlds greatest historical treasures

my othere favourate places are
Side prononced "seeday" which I have only been to once but intend to revisit there again, it is a lot quiter than kusadasi and is nice for a more romantic holiday as if you get accomadation on side peninsular you will be living amongst the Roman ruins and right near a golden sandy beach.

Gumbet were I have been twice it is a lively place with everything close at hand and within a long walking distance to Bodrum,I recomend the Baba hotel espectialy for families

have been to hiseronu once
which was enjoyable but do not rate it as high as the first three
there are plenty of places to visit from there, Dalyan and and going on a boat trip to turtle beach is definatly a must also its a short trip to olu deniz which in all the brochures make it look like a golden sandy Tropical lagoon, well its not the beaches are mostly small gravely like stones, and the public toilet facility's are minging and primative

I have also been to marmaris twice the first time I hated it was a very dirty place
ended up going there a second time by accident as resort was alocated on arrival and was then expecting the worst but was pleasantly surprised it was all cleand up and I ended up having a nice holiday there
