The Dias is a family run hotel, with helpful and friendly staff. Always a pleasure to stay here, I have always been welcomed , and felt at home. I recommed the Dias to anyone looking for a good budget hotel

Unique Quality: Close to the centre of town, the Friday and Wednesday markets take place right outside the hotel and are a fascinating sight, and a great shopping opportunity.

Directions: In the Friday Market area

We have been told that you have to book tickets for entrance to this world wonder in advance. Is this true. We will want to tour the site on June 27 or 28.
Any guidance is appreciated.

No way , just turn up either on your own, by getting the dolmus from Kusadasi to Selcuk, 3 km before Selcuk is the site, on your right, you won't miss it. You can get a book and walk around alone or get 1 of the guide waiting outside. Other way is to get a guided tour from Kusadasi, your choice.

I agree with the above posters..we visited there this past Feb and all we did was walk up to the booth pay our 10 liras each and enter into the site. Also be advised that the entrance fee to the Terrace houses on the hill is not included and it will cost you an additional 10 liras each. There are usually guides waiting outside that you can hire or as well you can purchace the audio tours as well. Also like the others said it will be hot and crowded.

You do not need to book anything in advance. Buy your tickets when you get there and explore the site yourself. You can hire a guide really cheaply at the site or in Kusadasi itself - there are some good websites that give you an indicator of the price. There is an extra admission for the newest excavation on the site but there is lots to see if you decide nt to see this area to. It's a great day out :-)

Travel Tips for Kusadasi

Ladies Beach

by Aggeliki

"Ladies Beach" is the most popular beach in Kusadasi. No motor vehicles are allowed to get in to Ladies beach area. Changing rooms, umbrellas, sun beds, and toilets are available in the beach .There are also many restaurants and cafes around the beach.
Ladies beach is 5 km from town center and takes about 25 min by walking. But you can take also the small bus dolmus from the center of town.

This was my second visit to this lovely old Roman city and I would highly recommend visiting Ephesus when you're in Kusadasi. The ruins of this city dates as far back as 3000 BC and excavations on the site is still ongoing.
It is one of the best photogenic spots I found and you will surely be taking many photos here, so make sure you have enough memory left on your card, do not get caught without memory. I have been with a tour guide on each visit and i will recommend that definately.

Roman Bridge

by royalempress

We discovered this ancient bridge on our way to Kusadasi.

We stayed at Kusadasi and couldn't wait to leave. Every day the cruise boats docked and the town was swarming with tourists. We couldn't see much in the town that really represented the Turkish Culture, only souvenir shops.
