We will be there for two nights - June 27 and 28.
Do you have any recommendations for high quality good value hotels.
Our family of four has two adults and children 10 and 13
We will be touring Ephasus while there. SHould we book a tour through our hotel?
Many thanks
Kim

hey there ,
Answer to your first post : you dont need to book for Ephesus ancient site:)) its open till 18:00 pm during the season.
Secondly Sirince is a small beatiful village with amazing Greek Architecture and best place to accomodate in Selcuk .pls. do check www.kirkinca.com. i can help you with bookings if you need :)

enjoy Turkey :)
Additionally if you will be staying in Selcuk or Sirince you can use public transportation and taxi cab for Virgin Mary House,Ephesus ancient site (Tomb of St.John and Ephesus Archeological Museum is walking distance in Selcuk) and hire a professional tour guide at the entrance of Ephesus ancient site.Guide for Virgin Mary House in not really necessary.

I would recommend the Bakkhos Guest House for your family. See: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/85de1/1beeea/3/
Ephesus has an excellent website:

Enjoy your visit.

Peter.

Travel Tips for Kusadasi

a carriage...

by Aggeliki

This must be old, but I think sometimes they use this for carrying. I saw this kind of carrying in many cities in Turkey, even in the big cities. They use this for carrying water, and generally heavy things.

CARAVANSERAI

by balhannah

Built in 1618 and restored in 1966, this is an Ottoman Castle built for sea trade. It has a Courtyard and a Two storied porch area. The entrance to the Caravanserai has a Marble Gate and a low archway. There are two archways, one left, and one right. The one on the left has a small back door, thought to be for left luggage. The right one was probably the Guardians, who took care of incoming and outgoing people. There is also another gate opening into the Bazaar. There are some expensive shops on the ground floor.
It is now the "Club Caravanserai Hotel" which has 26 rooms and is a 4star Hotel.
Its worth walking into for a look.
