Kusadasi

Kusadasi, one of Turkey's principle holiday resorts, offers an excellent environment for an unforgettable holiday. Situated on the west coast of Turkey- 90km south of Izmir, Kusadasi, is reputed for one of the most attractive city of the Aegean, as it is close to the important historical sites including Ephesus, Didyma, Priene, Miletos-the principals of ancient times, and ideal for sightseers. Kusadasi has a typical Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters, providing a long tourism season. The city is bathed in sunshine for 300 days of the year. Numerous powdery sandy beaches with warm&clear waters, providing a peaceful atmosphere, allow a great variety of water and beach facilities. As the sun sets, the attractive cafes and restaurants through the palm-lined boulevard, get busier. It is a great delight to watch the comings and goings of the yachts and ships with accompanience of the panoramic view of the sunset.
Excellent food and entertainment

Excellent service and food to match. Great entertainment from the waiters will have you humming the same darn tune all night! Best steak I've eaten in Kusadasi! Also fantastic Guvec (traditional Turkish casserole).
Kusadasi - resort town

"Kusadasi"
I arrived in the morning hours to this Turkish port town from Greece on a small boat. Upon setting foot into this town I could see it was catering to the foreign tourist in a big way. It was in the middle of Ramadan, the Moslem fasting month, but many people were eating, smoking, drinking coffee ( seemed to be locals!) and SOME restaurants were open serving food. Walking a bit further down the high street containing a plethora of shops and banks offering everything from sweets to clothing to internet cafes, there also was a street devoted to bars with a huge sign in English reading "BAR STREET".
I stayed in a nice, quiet and clean hotel near the seafront.(( with a VERY HELPFUL and SWEET female receptionist! she was very kind!) My hotel room had a MARVELLOUS view of the blue sea, the "corniche looking" walk way which had traffic all the time, as well as a parade of more up scale restaurants below my window. ( again, mostly tourist clientele)
I could see something which looked like a castle on an island and all the ships and boats arriving in the harbour.
A stroll along the sea, one could see many kinds of fancy hotels and apartments catering to holidaymakers as well as bars and restaurants. The markets which were promoted often sold the usual trinkety goods for tourists and VERY PUSHY, sometimes rude shop keepers! It seemed like a comfortable place for people coming in from Greece to rest and recover for a few days before moving on further into Turkey.
I wandered into some of the back streets of Kusadasi which weren't really on the tourist path. I found them very intriguing but due to my ignorance of the Turkish language I felt I had lost out on potential opportunities to know Kusadasi better. Wishing someone could help me learn Turkish?

Kusadasi-
we had a wonderful view from the hotel room we stayed in. Our veranda with a table and chairs served for me as a television without any adverts as well as a window on Kusadasi!
