Experience with Travel Guides to Ephesus

by greghatch

We are considering booking an Ephesus tour from Kusadasi with a group called Meander Travel. Does anyone have experience with them - good or bad? The trip is for a full day tour of Ephesus.

I went there by myself. I just caught a Dolmus bus and done it alone. There were guides at the entrance who offered their services but I said no and bought a guidebook instead. I think a full day is too long. I spent about 3 hours there including having a meal afterwards. It works out cheaper doing it yourself, bus etc, but it depends if you can be bothered going it alone?

(Cheese filled rolls)

I think turkish cookery has some of the best recipies in the world, if you get a couple of hours to spare one day then try a few of these

400 grams of white feta cheese
1 egg
60 grams of parsley, chopped
60 grams of dill, chopped
2 sheets of yufka (unleavened pastry)
70 grams of melted butter
125ml of cold water
1 egg yolk
300ml of oil

Mix the cheese, egg parsley and dill with a fork, cut the pastry into 12 strips per sheet and place a teaspoon of cheese mixture in one end of strip. Tuck in 1 cm of pastry on both sides over the filling and roll up. Damp the end with water for sealing and brush top of rolls with egg yolk. Heat oil in a large pan then add the rolls and fry untill golden brown

Visiting any place in Turkey, you should absolutely go to a bathhouse. We visited a really nice one in Kusadasi. It sure is fun, and much different then our sauna's. You should try it. The sauna is great and the massage too. For guys a bit tougher then for girls though.

"Bird Island"

Kusadasý is Turkish for "Birds' Island". .. A fisherman town has grown and became a very popular tourist attraction..

The number of tourist coming to Kusadasi makes the town at top3 in Turkey.. But this is due to its large harbour that can serve all kind of passenger vessels..

The town has a very large bazaar and numerous shops that sell all kinds of souvenirs as well as Jewellery, Leathers and Carpets..
