Disabled Travellers!

by TripAdvisor Member kal0711

Just thought I would write a little bit about the facilities at Kustur Club for disabled travellers.

We came back from Kustur last Saturday (16 June). My husband is disabled and for the first time we took his mobility scooter with us. I have to say from start to finish our hoilday was fantastic!

We arrived early hours of the morning and they didn't have a disabled room available until later on in the day so they put us in a bungalow near the reception until later on in the day.

We then were taken to the disabled room later on, and it was fantastic!

The bathroom had handrails all round, and in the shower there was a drop down seat for hubby to sit on as well as 2 handrails.

Have never seen a shower so well set out before when going abroad. On the site was also perfect, there are ramps to the restaurant and most places are easily accessible.

The only place I would say is unsuitable is the ampitheatre where the entertainment is, as there are steps up to it, and inside there are many steps as these are the seats.

Didn't really bother us too much as we were quite happy to just sit round the pool and have a few drinks.

The bar service was a bit hit and miss, the staff were very friendly, but there weren't enough of them, and I would also say that around the pool of an evening they really need more lighting as it is quite dark.

The food I would say was lovely, usually when I go away I come back lighter than I went because I'm a very fussy eater, but at Kustur there was always something and the hygiene and presentation was exceptional. We went to the a la carte restaurant one night and our meal was fantastic, the main course was chicken and it melted in your mouth, was beautiful.

We booked a boat trip from outside the hotel with Discovery Tours, cost us £9 for a full day with a beautiful barbecue, the staff on the boat were really kind and helpful and made sure hubby got on and off the boat ok and that he was safe on the boat.

To get into Kusadasi town we had to go by taxi as we would have struggled to get the scooter on a Dolmus. It cost us 25lira there and back and the taxi driver was brilliant.

Have never been to Turkey before and have to say the hassling and bartering to try and buy presents gave me a headache!!

Really enjoyed the market though on Wednesday, it was a lot more relaxed and talking to one of the stallholders they said they are beginning to realise that people don't like to be hassled and will stay and look longer if left alone to browse (good thinking I think)

I was also very surprised at how spotlessly clean everywhere is, no litter anywhere, really put UK to shame!

Just a final note on Kustur staff, they were the friendliest and curteous we have met anywhere, always smiling and ready to help wherever they can, that goes for all the Turkish people, they really are lovely.

We would without doubt recommend Kustur Club, it was one of the best and relaxing holiday we've ever had and we are hopefully going again next year with more of our family.

what a fantastic holiday cant wait to go back!!

Where do i start we had the most amazing time at the kustur. We arrived around 11pm on a thursday as our flight was from gatwick we spent around 50 mins on the coach from the airport and we were the first drop off which was nice we immediately got our room after fillling in a form and our luggage was taken by a bellboy to our home for two weeks which was a lovely garden room we couldnt have been more impressed it was lovely! proper double bed and a single lovely bathroom and balcony and a real must the AIR CON!! a tv and fridge and loads of cupboard space and drawers for all your nik naks. The staff at the reception were really friendly and made us feel welcome straight away. We were given a plan of the complex and a timetable of the all inclusive parts where and when the food and drinks were on which proved well handy in the first few days!!! Next i will cover the pool and beach lovely the pool was really clean the slides were great none of the negative comments that were previously written applies to us during our stay the sunbeds are plentiful and there are plenty of sunbeds on the beach and the guys there are always willling to find you some the staff were the most friendly people especially the waiting staff at the hera garden Emre sinam and oslam a special hello to you we are missing you!! the entertainment team were fantastic uki aikan honey andall of you made our holiday so great you can join in all the activities if you want but are not to pressured whateveer you feel like you do!! The nightly entertainment in the ampitheatre was according to our teenagers great i must admit we just used to sit at the hera garden bar and have a drink although we did play bingo one night which was a scream and hats off to uki who pronounced all the numbers in about five different languages clever guy! the entertainment manager jj (emrah) is a fantastic guy who jets around the complex making sure that your holiday is going ok and if you have any concerns make sure you see him and he will sort it!! The food was great we found something to eat every night we hardly ever made it for breakfast twice i think but both times a huge selection and we ate mosty at the snack
bars during lunch time and only went in once to lunch in the dining hall what a selection lovely fresh fruit and salads cold meats and some hot dishes too what more could you want well we didnt want for anything at all!!! This is the best all incl we have been to and we have been on 5 so far!! T he wine is great as are the drinks its true you sometimes have to wait a while for your drinks as waiter service is in operation but the amount of people they have to keep happy you dont mind and they are so polite once they get to know you after a couple of days you wont even have to tell them your order! Everyone really works hard here and the complex is always being cleaned and the gardeners seem to be at it 24/7. T he beach is immaculate the watersports guys are great maxim our captain especially we cant wait to come back next year!! we had a fantastic trip with him on the day before we came home 9 people to be taken in a speedboat on a tour of the surrounding areas and then left for a few hours on a private jetty and beach with drinks and lunch included and a return to the hotels beach by speedboat what a fantastic day we had one of our best ever trips worked out about 250 quid english money what value!!! All in all we had the most fantastic time met loads of great people and went in the best company of our friends penny and phil and their family a big hello to the other english people we met vicky and paul and all the lot from sheffield and the west mids and newcastle and of course all the turkish people we met too! Finally to sum up we got excellent service excellent value for money and the kustur is the nicest property we have stayed in so spacious and well maintained you need a medal guys!!!! A big HELLO from the tattoo man paul and vikki and all the family see you nect year we are hoping to come back around 17th july cant wait already if anyone wats to ask any questions or see the photos please email me at paulvincent511@btinternet.com and me or vik wil be happy to answer anything. Fantastic place!!

We have just come back from the Kuster club in Kusadasi , We went in a large group of 20 rangeing from 2yrs to 74, married single and lone parents one big family , that was what the staff called us while we were there "BIG FAMILY "
The people working on the complex are amazing , very friendly and always happy to help. while there my son was ill, he was promptly seen by the nurse and onsite doctor and treated in the local hospital. The treatment he recieved being second to none. The hotel swimming pool is fab, with water slides and maintained to a high standard, along with the grounds of the hotel. there was always someone going round cleaning up , along the beach or round the pool area. there was also a silent pool, which looked nice but i would not risk it with 3 loud noisy boys !!The room was basic but was only used to sleep in so no problem . . sheets and towels changed daily and beach towels supplied. It was great having a fridge in the room. The only problem i had with the room was EARWIGS ! eeeee i hate them , later realised i had left a window open slightly. I was in an older room 488 but some of my family were in newer more moden rooms and they were lovely. . the family rooms tend to be the old ones. . Reception and booking in was ok considering it was such a huge group. The bar staff were very nice the drinks ok but not as nice as some all inclusives i have been to. the food in the day was nice turkish pancake, pizza chips and burgers. no cold sandwiches though. in the afternoon at 5.30 you could get milky coffee and homemade cookies , yum yum , you had to be quick they didnt last long. the restaurant was lovely waiters do amn amazing job and always happy ... Hello Smiler and the gang. I am a chef so i can comment on how nice the food was and how well it was cooked and presented ... my son ate a truck load everyday and he is only 3. my partner was dissappointed no english breakfast, but there were over 12 different nationalities there when we were there ! I dont feel this was a problem, its good that we should be interacting with other nationalites and trying different foods although some english are not as keen. we met some lovely German and Bulgarian people while we were there. I must take my hat off to Max he is a star and his crew, the watersports on the beach was truely amazing, we had such fun , I must recommend the boat trip , we had a lovely afternoon all drinks supplied and nice dip ( or should i say PUSH) in the sea !! the turkish bath and massage on the beach was great. my son of 10 had a soap massage he loved it.. the entertainment was ok more for the kiddies mini disco !! hello julia Aykan and micheal jackson from joe the clown. the photographers working onsite took some great sunset photos of my family , very good value for money !! Hi OMAR and IRFAN...the town is lovely , you must visit it at night, all the street lanterns are lit , its not so hot either. our party went from the 20th sept to the 5 oct and every day was over 30 degrees , not a drop of rain.. we flew with Thomas cook in my opinion the best budget airline i have flown with. lovely staff. Aqua fanasty was brilliant not busy when we went so no queues !! great for all ages.costs about £14 per adult worth it ..
well i think i have covered everything , if your thinking of going its a brilliant place....

Didn't live up to expectations

by TripAdvisor Member bellaboo8

I agree with most of what was said on 'looks nice but.....', our experience wasn't quite as bad though. We have been to Turkey three times before and this is worst place we have stayed.

Positives: Nice rooms, lovely gardens kept in good clean condition, friendly staff, Quiet pool area very nice, A la Carte restaurant (small extra charge) very good & stunning setting.

Negatives: Poor food in main restaurant (all our party had stomach upsets), Food kept running out, lack of info on resort, rude reception staff, Main pool and slides a bit tatty & crowded, All inclusive drink selection very limited, terrible entertainment & grotty looking beach.

Overall for the price we paid we had a reasonable time but we expected more based on the rave reviews we had seen on this site. Property certainly is not 5*, more like 2-3*. Personally would not go back and would advise others looking to book to consider paying a bit more for a better holiday.

First time in Kusadasi :)

by Eddy_yu

I need something about Palm Club hotel and Kustur beach .

Re: First time in Kusadasi :)

I can tell you about Kustur beach and area. There is an amazing amount of dolmus buses from the beach road to both Kusadasi and Selcuk [Selcuk for Adaland - Europes largest aqua park with white water rafting etc- and Ephesus] it's 1,250,000 lira [50 p or 1 euro] each way from 07:00 to 24:00.
Tulip Bar [towards the main Izmir road left as you face the beach is the best of the bunch of bars and has a great Turkey night [free] every thursday - food & drink reasonable to cheap.
The beach is Ok - very clean water- about a meter wide band of stones as you enter but then nice sand. Some water sports at the end nearest adaland.
Ladies beach is more famous but Kustur is nice...and the water was warm.
Reasonable supermarkets on site opened until the early hours.
Hope you enjoy
