DO you recommend booking a private tour guide from our hotel in Kusadasi for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children 10 & 13) or should we travel there by bus or taxi and hire a guide at the gates?
If you want or get a dolmus to Selcuk and just before it gets there,it passes Ephesus and get off.2 minute walk into the site.Lots of guides hanging around if you want one or buy a book and do it yourself.Be clever and hang behind groups when they pass and hear what they are saying.

definately do it yourself :) Kusadasi very close to Ephesus and you can hire a guide at the entrance.You can also hire a car (it can be good fun) so you can visit sirince old greek village , virgin mary house even ortaklar town to eat very famous shish kebabs(tiny ones ,yummy :)

Usually during my trips I collect scenes of sunrises and sunsets wherever I happen to watch these nature miracles. Every sunrise and sunset is unique and I've never been tired watching them in reality and virtually on my videos.
Here in Kusadasi I was happy to see a wonderful sunrise over the Aegean Sea.

Ephesus, the most renowned of the ancient towns founded in the Ionian region in Western Anatolia, is located on the south of Izmir's Selcuk County. It is considered as one of the most important centers not only in Western Anatolian civilization but also in the history of word civilization. The ruins of Ephesus take on a value and a special significance among the innumerable sites of an archaeological interest: this is due to its inestimable artistic patrimony, its enormous heritage of history and culture, and the inexhaustible beauty and charm of its archaeological site.
I very enjoyable holiday and a wonderful experience. I enjoyed it so much that i have now visited three times.
Kusadasi itself is a big enough place with two large beaches. The nightlife is great with two areas mainly bar street for the younger crowd and old bar street for those looking for a more relaxing time.
Shopping in Kusadasi is an experience i have to admit. Genuine fakes as they are known are available everywhere. From clothes to rolex watches all can be purchased for half nothing.
Overall a wonderful experience and would glady return. Again!!!
