More about Sea Pearl Hotel

Sea Perl 4*?

by TripAdvisor Member hona7

Sea Perl Hotel has grate Sea view from nearly all rooms and grate pool. Hotel is built in half moon shape so sun never shine in the actual room, which I find as positive point. Clean hotel, but shortige with towels ( cleaned room and took towels away, but had to wait 1/2 day for clean ones) which was disapointing plus surage was stinking 2 days out of 7 we stayed there. For me was big surpise that water out of tap was salty. Shop in hotel overpriced for sunscreen you will pay about 7-10 liras ( €5-6 ) more then in Town itsealf.
Breakfast - Instant coffie + tea from the machine tasted just horable.
Room- reasonable size, but lack of decorations + very monotone. Balcony door din't close proparly, so wind was wistling at night. TV - 2 chanels of News in english and one chanel has some movies and one with cartoons in english all other is foran language.
Overall Hotel is nice and clean, but compare to Irish 4 star hotels there is lot to live up to.

Unpleasant shock

by TripAdvisor Member StanleyDublin

Had heard it was ok before going and overall it wasn't bad very modern and all the facilities were up to the mark. However they hotel certaintly don't like you spending your money anywhere other that in the hotel and will do everything to keep you in for as many nights of your stay as possible - the food is good but relatively expensive and the drink is very expensive by local standards. The owner Mr Glynn got very nasty (loudly in the in lobby) with two different groups who were heading out every night (nethier including or connected to me) and gave then a bit of a shock.
This left a bit of an unpleasant taste (I spoke to the people later in Kusadasi town) and having seen this carry on I wouldn't be inclined spend my money there again

Perfect for a package holiday

by TripAdvisor Member louiseoc

We were three girls in our twenties and thirties who arrived for a cheap package break away and in my opinion this was an ideal place to stay! We were well looked after with transfers from the airport and organised very quickly on arrival to our rooms and they had a breakfast arranged for us. The hotel is family orientated with loads of games and events for the family. However it is enjoyable for all people of all ages. If you didn't fancy catching the dolmus outside the hotel into the centre of kusadasi therewere nightly events untill ablout 1am to keep you entertained for the night. The food was lovely at the hotel and they had a bbq night with traditrional turkish entertainment which was great craic! I would not recommend this hotel if you're after a break without beng spoken to or asked to participate as the staff are very keen, sometimes too much, if you're a young girl to get to know you!, then this isn't for you. But if you're after a safe, clean and enjoyable cheap break away, this is perfect. This is for irish residents only so you make friends and get to know some of the other guests aswell and some people felt so comfortable here that they came on holiday alone and felt very safe here and participated in the experience. Also there is a 24hour bar which lots of fun happening around in the early hours if you fancy a drink or a nightcap if you're enroute back from bar street in kusadasi, however there are young kids in the hotel so you have to keep it down! As three girls going on holiday, we were a little reluctant to go to turkey, however the sea pearl offers an extremely safe and very well looked after service and all in all was a very fun, relaxing and enjoyable experience!!!

Sea Pearl/Mountjoy In The Sun

by TripAdvisor Member JohnnyBDublin

Having heard great reports about this hotel, but not knowing about Trip Advisor!, we booked two weeks in this hotel commencing on 07 October 2007. There was four of us going so we booked two rooms. Our ages are 47, 44, 27 and 26. Not exactly rowdy teenagers!!

On arrival the hotel looked quite nice and the rooms were ok if basic. We thought the breakfast on arrival was a nice idea, it is, if you like eggs! you can have them Hard boiled (3mins, 4mins or 5mins) Scrambled or as an omelette, the remaining food was awfull including the Tea. Same food every morning for the rest of the holiday!.

On our first day we decided to stock up the small coolers in the rooms with a few bottles of water, which we purchased on our walk along Ladies Beach, these were promptly taken off us on our return to the hotel (we were told we could have them back at the end of the holiday!). We thought this was a bit of an unpleasant shock, but worse was to come!!!!.

The four of us decided to sit in the room one night and play a few games of cards, we ordered some drinks from room service and we were listening to some music on an i-pod, which was really quite quiet and not obtrusive. About 11.30pm there was a knock on the room door and we were told, by two members of staff, to lower the music (which couldn't be heard from outside the room, we checked!!) we lowered the music anyway and were then asked by the two members of staff why there was a womans voice in the room because the room was in the name of two men!! when informed that the lady was our sister-in-law from the room next door they just turned and walked off. I found this intrusion completly uncalled for and didnt like being treated like a child, at 47 years of age!!.

We were told that the hotel was geared totally towards the Irish market so we knew that there would be a good crowd of Irish Holiday makers there. One night, after the entertainment finished, some of the guests were having a sing-song, which is typical of most irish people at the end of an evening when out or on holiday, we sat back and were enjoying listening to some lovely Irish singers, not heavy metal or rock just ballads. Within minutes the Night manager came over and told the people to be quiet (no Singing or Clapping allowed!).

Even people talking or laughing were chastised and TOLD, not ASKED, to be quiet. I found this quite disgusting, grown women and men, some in their sixties, being told to shut up. This hotel is part-owned by an Irish Man who should understand an Irish holiday but to be quite blunt we found him to be an obnoxious little man who thinks that once he has your money he can talk down to people.

Because one of our group decided to ask the night manager, in a normal conversation and not abruptly, what the problem was with someone singing or people talking for that matter, he was told that unless he apologised to the night manager he was out of the hotel! - He refused to apologise on the grounds that everyone is entitled to an opinion and stated that he would speak to the part-owner (seamus) the following morning to put his opinion across. Seamus' answer was that he agreed with his night manager and that he was to leave the hotel, even though a lot of people spoke up for him saying that he had done nothing wrong and that we weren't even singing!. this made no difference.

We asked to speak to the rep to see if anything could be done about the situation but she was of no assistance whatsoever, she stated that she only works for the one hotel!! she couldn't even arrange other accomodation for him!! when we asked her what we should do her reply was "I don't know, thats up to you" and this was only a week into our trip!!

To sum up, if you have read this far, and I hope you have, the Sea Pearl management and staff spoiled what was meant to be a family relaxing holiday and turned it into a Nightmare. If you want a holiday where you must stay in the one place for the whole time and only eat and drink in this same place (hence mountjoy in the sun!, as called by the locals!!) then the sea pearl is for you, if not then I strongly advise that you give this hotel a wide berth and dont go anywhere near it!! To be completly Honest the above is only part of the disgraceful behaviour towards guests in this hotel, if I was to write it all down it would become a book!!! come to think of that I might just do that!!!!

just loved the Sea Pearl

by TripAdvisor Member mossop

Dundalk: Ireland. Hi from Mary Catherine and Mandy, went to turkey for two weeks in August. Had a ball. Brilliant hotel the sea pearl is, great food and very charming staff. night life very good. We went there in June of this year as well for one week, but a week is not long enough to see the sights. Again the hotel was brilliant and i think that was what took us back again in August. We hope to go back again next year 2008. Well worth going too........

The Sea Pearl

by TripAdvisor Member Donegaltourist

Stayed here for 2 weeks with my husband (we stayed in the sister hotel The Palmin at the same time last year).

POSITIVES

1 Kettle and Fridge in the bedroom (which you're only supposed to use if you purchase products in the hotel)

2 Very clean hotel

3 Great sea views

4 Good entertainment in the evenings - music etc

5 Quiet location, close enough to Ladies Beach and far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Kusadasi.

6 Bbq night was good value for money - great selection

NEGATIVES

1 Raw sewage stench in our bathroom for at least 4 days which kept coming and going over the course of our holiday

2 This hotel is not wheelchair friendly

3 We found most of the bar staff grumpy and unpleasant

4 Food in hotel was too expensive and the alcohol was an absolute rip off - 12 euros for a brandy

5 Sound proofing isn't good

6 You are not allowed to bring in food/drink purchased outside the hotel

7 Bingo is a rip off - 22 euros for a pile of junk!

In saying all of the above we enjoyed our stay - The Sea Pearl and the Palmin are much of a muchness. I think that the staff are friendlier in The Palmin. Would I stay in either hotel again, yes because the holiday only cost 440 euros. Can't say that we received any hassle from staff regarding staying in the hotel to eat and drink. Best places to eat at nightime are Rosys on Ladies Beach and Sarays in Kusadasi (excellent staff and service). Casablanca also serves up a good meal (surroundings aren't great). Rosys is good for lunch and Sherwoods is also vfm for lunch and drinks. Word of advice, we went on the Jeep Safari with Emile who works on Ladies Beach. I've been on many excursions in my life but this was the worst ever!! A waste of money.

Take your jumpers for the evening as it gets nippy and we had 3 days of storms and rain on our second week. The average temperature during the first week was 22 C.

Absolutely Gorgeous

I have to say this hotel was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The rooms/food/entertainment was 100%. The staff were second to none and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definately stay there again.

Good and bad

by TripAdvisor Member ingoda

Stayed in the Seapearl last October.Cannot fault the hotel for cleanliness or service and the staff in general were very nice. The food was average(quantity over quality). We preferred to eat out due to this and the 'Butlins style' after dinner show that wasn't our scene as we would have preferred to sit and enjoy our afer dinner drink rather than feel under pressure to partake in cringe inducing entertainment.Drink and food is not cheap and the over riding feeling we had was the owners wanted to fly the punters to the hotel cheaply then make them fell under pressure to pay all the inflated add ons.
Felt sorry for most of the staff who were borderline hounding people around the pool when the customers would have preferred to be left alone, but you got the feeling this came from the owners influence and I'm sure their income relies on the tips.
I thoroughly enjoyed Kusadasi and the Turkish people and the people I met at the hotel but hope the owners of the hotel change the way they run it as the hotel left me with mixed feelings.
