çesmeli or cesmeli: Nice place in center of Bursa
We wanted a hotel in the centre of Bursa, as we were only staying for one night. Rough Guide to Istanbul mentioned this place. This is a hotel run by women only, don't ask me why. It is a bit dated, but our room was clean, with an air-co, the breakfast was more than sufficient and most staff members were friendly and helpful.
This hotel is in the part called Heykel.
We had a rented car and traffic is terrible in Bursa - Istanbul is relaxed compared to Bursa -, but we were lucky: turning left on the Ataturk cadesi in the direction of Otopark, we passed the hotel and found after 20 meters a parking garage (13 TL for 24 h). There is a parking building right next to it: very convenient.
Unique Quality: City centre, next to a parking garage.

Safran Otel Restaurant: Highly recommended central Bursa B&B
This was probably the best hotel I've stayed in during my trip. The hotel was an old Ottoman house that was lovingly restored and refurbished. The tastefully decorated rooms come with the basic modern cons such as TV and mini-fridge.
I have initially planned to stay in Cekirge where most budget options are located says Lonely Planet. But unknown to them (LP), you could stay in this wonderful B&B for YTL 50 (EUR 25) and be spared the agony of Bursa's notorious traffic jams. Safran is within walking distance from Ulu Cami in central Bursa, where the city's main attractions are concentrated. It is within a historic neighborhood whose surrounding walls are being restored and the whole place prettied up with tasteful landscaping.
Unique Quality: Comfortable rooms + Tasteful decor + central location + good breakfast spread for less than EUR 30 = good value

Atlas Termal Hotel: Cekirge or not?
Lonely Planet recommends that most budget options are located in Cekirge district, which is about 10-15 minutes from the city center - that is, if you are lucky. Rush hour traffic could stretch travel times to 45 minutes easily. This means less time for exploring the city's sights which are mainly located around downtown Bursa.
I was forced to learn this lesson when I decided to stay in Cekirge for the first night. Atlas Termal Hotel was the first decent budget option I bumped into in Cekirge. Decent means a fairly sized room with A/C and toilet and bath, and cheery decor. The staff were friendly and helpful, as usual. But the breakfast could have been better. Price includes access to thermal bath, which Cekirge is famous for.
If it were not for its location, I would have camped here for the rest of my stay in Bursa. But traffic was horrible (Bursa is a city of about a million people), so I decided to stay within central Bursa itself, where I found a really nice place for just an additional YTL 5 (EUR 2.50).
Unique Quality: The thermal baths were defining character of hotels in Cekirge. It is said that the warm mineral waters from the slope of the Uludag have therapeutic effects and for centuries people have trekked to Cekirge to bathe in these waters.

Hotel Dilmen: Fresh air
Hotel Dilmen is a 4-star hotel in Çekirge district of Bursa.
The hotel's personnel is nice and helpful. The breakfast is rich and you can have it from 6:30 a.m., if you have to check out early in the morning. The room service is also included in the price! Free-of-charge wlan access is available in the lounge, but it's also visible from upper level rooms. The north-situated rooms provide a wonderful outlook on the city.
Unique Quality: You can have a coffe or a tea anytime in your room: a boiler kettle, instant coffee and teabags are provided (and recovered daily).

Hotel Cesmeli
This is the most expensive hotel I stayed at during my trip, but I decided to spend more for a nice place with good location. There are only women working at the hotel and that felt very nice. It is a very clean place.
The room had a fan, TV and bathroom. Even though it is located in the centre it is quiet.
The breakfastbufé in the morning is very inviting.
For a single room I paid 40 000 000 TL (with breakfast).
