Tour to pamukkale

by priyakirpalaney

Hello all.
Am planning to visit pamukkale from selcuk next week. Are there buses from selcuk or do i have to go to izmir? How long does it take. i know i will reach denizli and then go to pamukkale. should i take a tour to pamukkale and heiropolis, or do it on my own? where would i book this tour: denizli or selcuk and how much would it approximately cost.
Thanks for your help

Lots of buses to Denizli/Pamukkale should be 2hours at most, even with a quick change in Denizli. Go to Selcuk Otogar (bus station) and buy on the day, and choose the next available bus, unsure of cost.

There are direct busses to Denizli. You dont need to travel to Izmir. As our friend Tdiver says go to the Otogar and ask the time.
Selcuk - Denizli 175 km 3 hours
Selcuk - Pamukkale 195 km 3,5 hours

On the other hand u dont need to take a tour in Pamukkale the cotton bourg. You can visit every single historical place alone. They are collected in the same place. For reddish-cotton-bourg the Karahayit you must walk for 20 minutes. Take your swimming suits with you. You can swimm in the hot pool just at the heart of Pamukkale or in Karahayit.

Travel Tips for Pamukkale

Chalky Terraces

by Leipzig

Pamukkale means Cotton Castle. Calcium oxide-rich warm water is flowing down the southern slope. Several terraced basins invite visitors to lie in them. It is said the water has therapeutic powers.

Dawn over Hierapolis

by Kuznetsov_Sergey

As always I collect scenes of sunrises and sunsets wherever I happen to watch these nature miracles. Every sunrise and sunset is unique and I've never been tired watching them in reality and virtually on my videos.
Here in Pamukkale I was happy to see a dawn over ancient Hierapolis.

You can watch my 1 min 46 sec Video clip Pamukkale Dawn over Hierapolis with Xenia Akeynikova – Dawn over Moscow music.

My favorite part of the theater

by Diana75

This was my favourite part of the theater that's why I took many pictures of these arches.

Located at the entrance to the theater, on the left side, seeing their perfect conditions I couldn't stop thinking how perfect was the construction technique so as they are still standing today.

Take a walk in Pamukkale

by globetrott

Take a walk in the evening-sun of Pamukkale.
On this picture you may see, that the white terraces will end after a short distance, and that fact makes it even more " surrealistic ", as all of the other surrounding land is rather dull without any trees.

The Roman Theater

by aukahkay

The Roman Theater, located in the Ancient Hierapolis is a well-preserved monument in the city and was built in the second century AD by Emperor Hadrian. Having a capacity of 9000 - 10000, the theater has 45 rows of seats. Today only 30 rows are left.
