A dirty hotel with an agressive owner

We booked this hotel based on the positive reviews from other supposed travellers on websites such as Booking.com and Tripadvisor. These reviews are generally false.

On arrival we noticed that the pool was very dirty and decided to leave, at which point the owner became aggressive and abusive.

We had to pay a cancellation fee but it was worth it. There are plenty of other hotels in Pamukkale which offer cleaner facilities and friendlier staff.

Unique Quality: Dirty pool.

Bodrum - Pamukkale-Selcuk

by nanda_kumar

Hello,
I would like to travel from Bodrum to Pamukkale on the morning of 6 October and then travel to Selcuk in the evening where I plan to stay the night. I would like to see Ephesus and then travel to Eceabat on 7 Oct. I would appreciate any information on bus timetables and travel times.
Thanks
Nanda

Thank you for the information. It has helped me plan my itinerary. Which currency is preferred in Turkey, Euros or Turkish Lira?

I used Turkish lira all the time, but around the coast, Bodrum, Marmaris, Kusadasi, a lot of prices are in Euros. They will take both.

Travel Tips for Pamukkale

Pamukkale (Hierapolis) map

by Diana75

Once you enter the site you are tempted to wander around by your own, but it's better to have at least a map of Hierapolis in order to be sure that you'll not miss the important parts.

In any case there is a board with a map located near the western entrace which helps you identify better the ancient buildings.

Sunset near Pamukkale

by Kuznetsov_Sergey

As always I collect scenes of sunrises and sunsets wherever I happen to watch these nature miracles. Every sunrise and sunset is unique and I've never been tired watching them in reality and virtually on my videos.
Here in Pamukkale I was happy to see a wonderful sunset in a frame of roses.

You can watch my 1 min 26 sec Video clip Pamukkale Sunset with Xenia Akeynikova – Dawn over Moscow music.

Look down

by Diana75

Pamukkale's pools and stalactites impress you no matter how close or far you are.

But if you look down while you are walking on the slopes you'll be amazed by the forms created by the limestone sediments and the changing colors due to the abundence of the substances.

Byzentine Gate

by mvtouring

The portal to the south end was constructed in 65 - 86 AD at the place where walls intersected in the north with the Byzantine walls in another gate. The level of the street starts rising as of this spot. It was flanked with dwellings dating from the Roman times. Beyond this gate called "The Byzantine Gate" are funerary monuments and another monumental portal.

Antique Spa Pool

by AkDeniZeYtiN

It is in the same area of Travertines and Hierapolis.
But you have to pay another 23 TL or something to swim here.
You do not have to pay for just looking around the pool.

There are REAL ruins under the water in the pool, so it seemed to be quite interesting to swim.
