Japanese Owned and Operated

The Kale Hotel is located in the center of Pamukkale and a few minutes walk to the Pamukkale white travertines. The owner's wife is Japanese, who speaks English, Japanese and Turkish. The hotel has a restaurant, which serves primarily Japanese food. Single, double, and triple rooms with private bathrooms are available. The hotel also sports dorm style rooms.

Generally speaking my wife (who is Japanese) and I were content with our stay at the Kale Hotel. I found the hotel a bit dirty and was slightly put off by the facilities (the owner informed us upon check-in that we could not flush any toilet paper down the toilet bowl, making our bathroom experience not too pleasant). Additionally, I found the hotel to be over-priced for what you actually got. Pamukkale is a small tourist-oriented town, but nonetheless I felt that this hotel should have been less expensive. Though they call it a "hotel," it is more of a dorm.

Bottom line: I would not stay here again, but it was not a miserable experience.

Unique Quality: Owned and operated by a Japanese woman

Pamukkale is definitely a tourist town. In winter, it's like a desert... you can hardly see a shadow on the streets.

There are lots of pensions/guesthouese/hostels but most are empty and old, a bit scary.

We stayed in a family-run pension and we believed that it's a nice place .... only in summer~~ as the hot water supply was so weak that we only could have cool (not ice-cold but can't be identified as warm) water for shower~ ... poor us!!!! We paid 25 Million Turkish Lira including a LOVELY heater....

it is advisable to know which hostel is your target place before heading to Pamukkale~

Unique Quality: Cool shower in winter!!!
