We were tired of staying at another hotel in Sultanhamet and needed a change of scenary for our second week in Istanbul. We toured many of the hotels in walking distance and this one was not only an excellent value but fabulous! It really stands apart from the other hotels in Sultanhamet. It is within 1 small block of the Four Seasons in a very quaint tourist friendly neighborhood just on the Bosphours side (or South) of the Aya Sophia and Blue Mosque- In what is called the old city. (again a couple small blocks from the Aya Sophia)
The hotel is small and only has 10 rooms; All are large and well appointed. It is a fairly new hotel and it shows in the bedding and furniture - it is in great shape! The bathrooms were also clean and roomie! The hotel staff is very kind and a couple of the managers speak great english! They do NOT have single rooms - but if traveling alone the double room is still a great value! Also they have radiant heating that was very nice and warm (we were there in November 06 and it even snowed!) They also have AC.
Breakfast was included on the rooftop and was the standard Turkish/Euro breakfast. Hardboiled eggs, cheese, lots of bread, olives, sliced tomatoes & cucumber, fruit, juice, coffee, cereal, preserves, etc.
Unique Quality: Great location: within walking distance of Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia and the Tram (about 2-3 small blocks). It is also located in a great sub-district of Sultanhamet that is very tour friendly with lots of bars, shops, internet, laundry service, and other travelers.
