What a view

This is a small hotel with, it has to be said, small rooms. But, if serial cat swinging isn't your bag, what's the problem? the rooms are spotless, with bijou en-suite facilities, and the two on the top floor both have wonderful view: one over the Bosphorus, and the other of the Blue Mosque.
If your not fortunate enough to be in one of these room, no real worries because the view is the same from the terrace/ lounge area. The view of the Blue mosque is particularly spectacular: it's not an if-you lean over the balcony and crane your neck you can see it in the distance number. Simply,, the blue mosque is the view.

An excellent buffet-style breakfast, as well: eggs, cheese, tomatoes, olives, yogurt, fruit....get set up for a hard days work being a tourist!

Small, artistic hotel in heart Sultanahmet

We booked this hotel by internet www.hotelararat.com for 4 nights, but ended up staying for a week. It is intimate, artistic and in the heart of the historical district.
Every room is painted in a different style, which make them unique. They all have airco and bathroom. A vew rooms are a bit covin like, but most are wonderfull.
Every mayor site is in a 5 minute walking distance, but even lying under the Blue Mosque, in and on the hotel it is remarkably quiet.

Unique Quality: Having breakfast on one of the two roofterrasses literally under the Blue Mosque and spending several hours after siesta, to recharge after a long and hot morning walking through the city and/or visiting the sites, sitting on the other terras in the shade with a cold Efes beer (or something else from the bar), looking out over the sea of Marmara, enjoying the cool breeze and chatting with the owner and other guest. It was perfect.
