A little gem in Istanbul
by TripAdvisor Member EvaStockholm
Best Western Empire Palace is a very good hotel with an excellent location within walking distance of all the major attractions. Our triple room was in perfect condition with nice Turkish decor and the daily cleaning was impeccable. The breakfast buffe, which was served in the roof top restaurant, was generous
Great Time!

My wife Mercy and I had a wonderful stay. It was clean which is important. Everything was beautiful. The staff was outstanding. We just want to compliment Best Western Empire Palace The Resturaunt on the top floor was nice and yet romantic. Great panoramic view of the Bosphorus.
It is small and comfy. 35 rooms and I am sure they are all as nice as ours was. Great to have internet access and the marble in the bathrooms is awesome.
The SPA center...with Turkish bath and sauna and massages were a nice luxury and comfort to us. Mercy even took advantage of the inhouse hair dresser. All of this comfort and detail made for a great romantic getaway and we will certainly come back and we highly recommend Best Western Empire Palace

We loved this hotel. We stayed last month with three children and would definitely go back. The building is charming, the location great and our rooms were very clean and comfortable. The rooftop terrace breakfast buffet was lovely with wonderful views. Best was the warm welcome and friendly and helpful staff. The receptionists went out of their way to tell us about places of interest and give helpful advice. All staff was very helpful, friendly and kind. We felt very good at Best Western Empire Palace Hotel and will recommend it to all our friends.
A pleasant surprise

After we decided to make a trip to Istanbul we heard lots of bad rumors about the classification of the hotels in Turkey. Maybe some of them are true but it was not the case of our very pleasant residence in Istanbul - Best Western Empire Palace Hotel.
We found there a wonderful mixture between Best Western standards and Oriental influences supported by a very nice and warm personnel. In the morning we had breakfast on the terrace having a wonderful view over the minarets, Sultan Ahmet, Topkapi and Bosphorus. In the evening we took a Turkish bath after a day of walking on the streets around the hotel, visiting the old part of the city with lots of interesting sightseeings.
Just the same as everybody, we left Turkey carrying a water pipe :) from the Bazaar, hundreds of pictures, and a pleasant impression about Empire Palace Hotel.
Very pleasing, very reasonable!

The hotel is in an excellent location to explore SultanAhmet and Istanbul. The nightly views of the Bosphorus were beautiful, and there is a very nice atmpsphere all around the hotel.
The breakfast was excellent, and the view is positively breathtaking.
The hotel was very fresh and clean, and the rooms were luxurious and well furnished.
Thank to the kind help of the receptionists we chose wonderful tours and got to enjoy Istanbul to the fullest. Me and my spose spend wonderful time at the SPA. The services there wer also high quality.
We would definitely visit this hotel again, and it was definitely well worth the money.

We just returned from the trip to Istanbul and stayed at Empire Palace Best Western.
This is an excellent Hotel to stay for the price that we paid. Rooms are very nice, Beds are very comfortable, Service is very nice, and staff is very friendly.
It is close to tram and most of the historic district, hence very convenient.
As we were in the front side of the hotel, we ran in to noise problem due to passing the trams, otherwise it is very quite neighborhood.

A really comfortable hotel, very clean throughout with good size rooms and pleasant decor. excellent bathroom facilities. A good selection of food for breakfast. Staff friendly and the hotel is in a good location for seeing all the sites by foot. Would definity return to this hotel on a future trip, would recommend this hotel to any visitor to this city.
Great place to stay

We stayed here during the later part of March. The location of the hotel is excellent. You are within walking distance from the light rail stations as well as lots of resturants and places to see.
The staff at the hotel are super friendly and helpful. They seem to really go out of their way to help you. This is one of the main reasons I would recommend the hotel.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable althought I would say that they are a little bit on the small side.
The breakfast is included and good. The resturant is on the top floor with glass all the way around so you have a nice view as you enjoy your BF.
The one think I would caution you on is to make sure you check the rate for every day that you will stay as in my case the nightly rate varied greatly some nights.

"In the middle of the Golden Horn!"
Fab stay in the middle of everything! We stayed at The Best Western Empire Palace.. a 17th century Ottoman Palace that was recently refurbished into a charming 35 room hotel. Located dead square in the middle of everything, the hotel was well appointed, comfortable and walking distance or trolley & walking distance to almost eveything!Must sees include the Hagia Sofia, Hippodrome,Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, The Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar. This was our hotel!
"Hagia Sofia"
This was some of the reconstruction work being done on the Hagia Sofia..5th century church steeped in history and one of the most well known sights in all of Turkey!Do not miss the Turkish musueam of Architecture newar Topkapi Palce and the Modern Art Museum overlooking the Boshprous... best values around and not crowded...!
"Shop till u drop at the Grand Bazaar"
Momma told me to never pay retail... and I never do.. You have to haggle for everything here and that's part of the fun. Assume everything is double the price if you look like a tourist..it usually is.. and don't buy anything until it gets down to about a third of what was orginally quoted.Be prepared to walk away.. great deals on jewelry and silk... don't be afraid to negotiate. be even less afraid to say no and just ignore the multitude of "barkers" that verbally assault you as you run the gamut into the catacombs of the Grand Bazaar. Best deals can be found off main aisles.. price check and never buy anthing without at least checking three or for other booths> Happy Hunting!
