    Reasonably Suite

I stayed here with my mum & aunt. It's not a big hotel, tiny lift, some stairs to negotiate but doormen are on hand to carry your bags for you, free & speedy internet and wifi (very important!), close proximity to major sites, but set in a nice quiet pocket of Sultanahmet. We stayed in a junior suite, which was comfortable for 3 people (there is a sofa bed in the living room for the 3rd person).

Unique Quality: Great rooftop terrace overlooking the Bosphorus on one side, the Blue Mosque on another and Hagia Sophia on the other side too. Good breakfast spread, with a nice variety of Turkish fresh veg & yogurt, breads, eggs, sweets etc. Nice enough staff, though some have to be approached first instead of them coming to you, mostly men staff downstairs. Quite reasonably priced when I went through (85 Euros per night for a suite i.e. 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed in the living room area). Arasta Bazaar is just up the street, but it's also surrounded by shops e.g mini market, rug stores, jewelry store, kuafors (hair salons), cafes etc. Round the corner is also the famous Balikci Sabbhatin... (Sabaci Balikhattin??? I will reconfirm) apparently the best seafood restaurant in town.

Directions: Down the road between the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, turn right at the Mavi Ev (Blue House hotel), turn left at the rug store, all the way down Mimar Mehmet Aga Caddesi to the end (yellow colour Ottoman house)

I am going to Istanbul for 7 nights - 28 August to 4 September. I am thinking of staying at the Hotel Ferhat or the Best Western Obelisk Hotel. Could any one help me choose?
