I'm planning to visit Istanbul soon.
Has anybody already been at the Birbey Hotel in Istanbul? From what I've seen at the website it looks fine and not expensive.
You, who knows it, tell me more about it please.

At 50 bucks sounds like a very nice place actually.
But if you really want to stay somewhere nice stay at the Four Seasons.. it will be 350 US but hey...

i was in Istanbul i couple of months ago. i stayed in Hostel Sinbab. They have both dormitory and individual rooms at a cheap price. facilities are quite clean. individual rooms also have private baths of course. a room+pvt bath costs 15 dollars and you can negociate i think... maybe if you also want some breakfast.

Infact all depends on what you like. The Birbey Hotel looks nice, although I am not sure about its location. Sinbad Hostel, looks cheap but it seems its guests were happy to be there. What exactly you would be pleased to have in a hotel? Comfort and luxury combined with history? Four Seasons is a great for it...
One of my favorite cheap hotel of Istanbul is Cihangir Hotel. You can try that one as well. Just google "Cihangir Hotel". If the prices seem high, you can bargain.

Last summer I stayed in a small beautiful hotel in the Sultanahmet area. It is called Uyan Hotel and you can check at www.uyanhotel.com.
It is very close to the main attractions of the old city. Take a look.

Hmm Birbey's located in Aksaray area.. Aksaray as a location is not far from Sultanahmet area.. You can even reach the point by a 30 min walk.. It's also not far to Taksim area.. But everything is depending on ur interests.. If yu're interested more in a niite life I would suggest you Taksim area.. You'll find nice hotels also not for an expensive price... For instance there is Triada Residence in Taksim and it was costing 60 $ a suit and you're exactly in the heart of nite life...
