SUPER SUPER HOLIDAY

Like a sultan

I had the good luck of staying in this hotel on my first trip to Istanbul, and also on the second one. Both times I had a room with a view of the Bosphorus. Moreover I was an invited guest, in fact I could not possibly afford the hefty rates.
The hotel itself is a modern building, annexed to an Ottoman Palace that now is an integral part of the hotel, with a restaurant and several function rooms for parties, weddings, meetings.

Unique Quality: Lots of details form the general feeling of luxury in this hotel, but the one sigle detail that stands out in my memory is the swimming pool. It is by the Bosphorus, in a beautiful garden, with a view of the old palace and its marble gate on one side. When you are in it you see only a white balaustrade to separate the water of the pool from the sea.

Istanbul's best hotel

Considered Istanbul's best hotel, the Kempinski occupies an opulent 19th century Ottoman palace on the banks of the Bosphorus (see tip in "things to do" for the history of the palace). Most of the rooms are in a more modern annex with views over the Bosphorus, though the largest suites and ball rooms are in the actual palace. No doubt a stay at Çırağan Palace is special, as the service is impeccable and the amenities are excellent. Most enjoyable, though, is simply having breakfast outdoors while watching large Russian ships lazily navigate the waters. A stay here comes at an elevated price, but when I stayed here in August 2004, I was very lucky to find a relatively affordable special on the internet. I am told that today, such specials are no longer available, and the price for a regular room has more than doubled!

Unique Quality: Although the hotel is located at the edge of town, distant from historic Istanbul, I found it quite pleasant to return in the evening away from the congestion of central Istanbul. Taxis are plenty at the hotel and the ride to downtown Istanbul takes only 15 minutes (without traffic, otherwise it could be long). The hotel though is within walking distance from Dolmabahçe Palace and other sights in Beyoğlu.

Very Bosphorus

Is the Çiragan Palace Hotel Kempinski Istanbul the most luxurious hotel in the city?
Many people think so.I can agree that its the best hotel in bosphorus
The Çiragan (CHEE-rah-AHN) Kempinski has a reputation for deluxe accommodations and service, but it's the location—right on the Bosphorus shore next to the restored 19th-century Ottoman Çiragan Palace—that gives the hotel its caché.I use to play football in this ground.
The hotel itself is a modern building designed in harmony with the restored palace. The 284 guest rooms, 20 suites, and most facilities (restaurants, bars, etc) are in the hotel portion.
The palace has 11 luxury suites, but its primary use is for meetings, conventions and private functions held in its sumptuous public rooms. Hotel guests can usually wander through and admire the public rooms if they are not in use.
The Kempinski has indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and those marvelous Bosphorus views—but not from all rooms. Rooms on the west side of the hotel have "park views," meaning that the higher rooms look out across the Bosphorus coast road to the grounds of Yildiz Park, the forests and gardens surrounding Yildiz Palace. But the lower rooms on the west side look only at a high stone wall that sets off the Çiragan Palace grounds from the busy roadway.
If you plan to stay at the Kempinski for its Bosphorus views, be sure your room has one view !

Best place to stay in Istanbul

The stay was awesome. We landed in Cirigan after almost a 20 hour journey all the way from India. The rooms, the staff, the location and the luxury. I mean in all my life this must have been one of the best places I have stayed in...and I have travelled a lot. Wifi is on the house all over the hotel and since I was travelling with a friend who works in a big american corporate company, we got a room for like US $ 180 a night which I thought was a steal for this place.

Unique Quality: Excellent views, superb service.

A fantastic hotel on the Bosphorus

Being treated like a king doesn't hurt once in a while? At Ciragan I was having the feeling of being the emperor...
I stayed three nights on a work-related trip and my hosts scooped up everything related to accommodation and transport - a truly fantastic stay despite all the work that I had to do in exchange for this service....

Unique Quality: This rates among the very best hotels I have ever stayed at - anywhere. A combination of the setting on the Bosphorus, the grand room with the breakfast veranda on the Bosphorus and the spacious outside areas and park-like courtyard, super service and even better food. The restaurant Tugra was a culinary highlight during my stay. And I did try several other renowned places. Easy access to sights and facilities in the city.

Ciragan Palace Hotel

If you are a rich man and you want to enjoy your vacation in Istanbul with style this is the perfect place for you !

Ciragan hotel was once a palace and he looks like one.

The most simple room will cost you 380 USD per night and the best room 9000 USD !!!

We went inside to see the place and to enjoy the beautiful view from the coffee bar outside.

Unique Quality: 9000 USD per night ! - i guess you can figure it out by yourself.

An absolutely fabulous hotel

This was unfortunately a one night only hotel, as with prices for a standard from $380 - $480 and the top of the range suites at something over $11,000 per night, it was not the place to stay for too long. A great experience if you can afford it. Its location is about 45 min from the airport and to help save a little for the hotel costs, you can take a bus into the center of Istanbul and then take a cab for the 10 min journey to the Ciragen Palace (Taxi drivers don’t recognize it as Kempinski)

Unique Quality: The grounds which are massive, run parallel with the Bosphorus and is from the grounds or maybe the passing tourist boats that you can really appreciate this hotel, which has an increadible history. From the pathway in the grounds alongside the Bospherous, you are within 1000m of the bridge connecting Europe with Asia.

Taxi from the airport

by ChristopherV

Will be staying at the Ciragan Palace and arrive at Istanbul Airport at 10:50PM. Is a taxi the right choice? Safe? Cost of a taxi ride?

Re: Taxi from the airport

by cemkilickaya

hello,
normally taxi costs about 25 -30 euro from AÝrport to Çýraðan all airport taxies are safe but sometimes they are using long ways (it means sometimes taximeter shows 50-55 euro) i recommend Retur Transport Company . I used 2 times . very comfortable private minibus cost is 25 Euro. if you want to take it their mail address is info@turquia.com

Re: Re: Taxi from the airport

Forget about websites emails, whatever...
Just get to the VERY MODERN airport, cross the exit doors, jump in a taxi and tell the guy Ciragan Palace (pronounced Chiran...). Tell them to go by the Bosphorus.
Stop worrying about safety... this is just a taxi ride..
