The residence of the last Ottoman Sultans now an luxury hotel with a swimming pool at the shore of the Bosphorus, where you think that you are swimming at it. A magic place with magic views and beautiful architecture. It have an old (original) and a modern part. I remember the red magnificent curtains and gorgeous furniture.
At the bar a beautiful piano. At the garden, all full of candles, in summer, a wonderful dinner buffet. Inside a jewel shop that must been seen and a bakery shop that must been also seen :)
Unique Quality: The arquitecture and views to the Bosphorus... all is unique ...

The hotel the wee mortals stay in is actually an annex beside the palace only the VIPs get to stay in the super lux suites inside the palace. As you can see by the pic, it's right on the water which is lovely at night. The website says $1000 per night, but the rooms were running $450.
To clarify any possible misunderstandings, I did not stay here. I had one member make a snotty comment about my complaints of expensive entry fees, thinking I was paying (and could actually afford) $450 per night.
Unique Quality: Some rooms offer wonderful views of the Bosphorus, others, a wall.

Istanbul - Ciragan Palace Hotel
Will be staying at the Ciragan Palace and arrive at Istanbul Airport at 10:50PM. Is a taxi the right choice? Safe? Cost of a taxi ride?
hello,
normally taxi costs about 25 -30 euro from AÝrport to Çýraðan all airport taxies are safe but sometimes they are using long ways (it means sometimes taximeter shows 50-55 euro) i recommend Retur Transport Company . I used 2 times . very comfortable private minibus cost is 25 Euro. if you want to take it their mail address is info@turquia.com
Forget about websites emails, whatever...
Just get to the VERY MODERN airport, cross the exit doors, jump in a taxi and tell the guy Ciragan Palace (pronounced Chiran...). Tell them to go by the Bosphorus.
Stop worrying about safety... this is just a taxi ride..
