This was probably the most expensive hotel we stayed in, but it was also the hotel with the worst service and breakfast that we stayed in. The rooms were lovely, but hey you only sleep there, so that was not much help. Breakfast was skimpy and boring. We thought we would be treated to a 5 star breakfast, but it was worse than the breakfast we got from our 3 star hotel down the road. They only supplied us with 1 coffee and 1 creamer in our room and when I asked the concierge for more, I was politely told that I would have to pay for it. What? Did they expect us to share the coffee and have the tea black? Upon booking out, you could not find a porter to assist you with your luggage at all. When staying at a 5 star hotel, I expect 5 star service all around, not 2 star service.
80s building with 80s room design (a bit unspectacular, almost same decor in green tones as Renaissance in red tones). Great view over Marmara Sea and yacht harbour. Galeria shopping arcade next door. Great breakfast buffet. Conversation in only bar is impossible due to very loud, permanent live music. Most aircrews stay here. Hotel is slightly better maintained and offers slightly better rates than very similar Renaissance, which is slightly closer to the airport and offers more restaurants, bars and outdoor pool.
Can confirm it's a solid buiding after experiencing an earthquake there
