nice hotel in a nice area
We just got back from a 4 day istanbul trip. I choose this hotel for the location. The hotel itself is very cute. It has an old fashioned lift and nicely decorated lobby. The proprietors were wonderful. It's run by two young sisters.The rooms weren't exactly luxury but were very clean.
If I went back, I would definitely choose to stay there again.

The hotel is really good if you compare the quality with price, position is good and when I was there they told me that it is going to open a new terrace on the roof

Enjoy being downtown Istanbul
Galata Antique is a quaint, neat hotel in the heart of Istanbul in the Taksim area. It is conveniently located at the end of Beyoglu, almost across the street from the Old Tunnel. The staff is very nice and friendly and the rooms are also very nice. I really enojyed my stay there!
Unique Quality: The best thing about this hotel is its location! It's within walking distance from the Galata Tower, Beyoglu and Taksim sq. The hotel does not have a gym or a pool but its location and the money value makes up for it...

Albatros Hotel or Galata Antique hotel?
Has anybody stayed in any of these hotels? any impressions/comments on any of those? How safe/quite are the neighborhoods? (Albatros hotel is in Sultanahmet district, Galata Hotel is in Beyoglu district, near the Tunel square).
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

nevermind. i ended up booking at a different hotel (erboy).
albatros was asking for 55 euro for a night and galata antique was quoting special F1 prices, something like 70 or 75 euros (don't remember exactly).
it seems during the F1 season most of the hotels get crazy and nearly doubled their room rates.
