Istanbul's family friendly hotel!

After spending 45 days in Harbiye , Taksim and walking Istiklal Caddesi all the way to Galata Tower and back , I was ready to relocate to Sultanahmet where would be easier to visit The Blue Mosque or Sultanahmet Camii , Topkapi Palace, The Hagia Sophia, Basilica Sistern, Grand Bazzar and other beautiful places that only being there one may be able to enjoy!
In my search for a hotel I cam across Grand Seigneur Hotel. I made the reservation and moved to Sultanahmet. Grand Seigneur is a boutique hotel, small but well decorated Turkish style. The breakfast was very good in with a family environment! I enjoyed my stay at Grand Seigneur!
There's no lack of hotels in Sultanahmet so make sure to look for good prices!
The Turkish people will not be offended if you try to ask for lower rates!
That is their specialty! :))

Unique Quality: There are no great characteristics to describe at this hotel. There's no pool, no bar... but the friendly atmosphere makes it for the rest!
It's a walking distance to all Sultanahmet tourist attractions!
As I recommend before, there's no lack of great hotels for all taste and all pocketbook!
The rates change with the season, of course!

Istanbul , turkey incredible hotel

I did not stay there. Walking on hudavendigar cad, on the way to sirkeci station on a tiny street, I saw le grand seigneur. It's a house converted into a hotel.I went inside had a look at the lobby, asked the receptionnist if I could see a room.He showed me several as the hotel was quite empty. They are all furnished in a turkish style, not big, no view from the windows. It looks nice , I woul'dnt stay there :the street is durty, insafe .May be in 2010 it will be better!!!!!!

Unique Quality: beautiful small hotel

Looking for a travel buddy

by Chantai

Hi, I would like to travel to Istanbul this November but I am not confident enough to travel alone, if you are also looking for a travel buddy, please send me a message.

Thanks and cheers

Chantai, if you won't get any response or a travel buddy until your travel date, I would suggest you stay in a friendly hostel (most of them are anyway) like Chambers of Boeheme, Bahaus Guesthouse, Istanbul GH, Antique GH and several others, check hostelworld...chances are you'll meet someone who's also looking for or even a group to travel around. That's guaranteed, I did.

Have fun!

Hi Chantai

I will be exploring Istanbul from the 10th - 14th November. I will be staying at the Grand Seigneur Hotel in Sultanahmet. If these dates suit you I would appreciate the company - certainly beats travelling alone!

i am going alone to at the end of november (21-23). i was supposed to meet family there in the summer but there was an emergency, then a friend was supposed to go with me and that fell through. i have to use the ticket now bc i have been living in e. europe and will not be back with in the year to fly from this city to there. i am excited about going, but it would be nice to have someone to walk around the city with. what dates are you going?
