Good cheap medical service in the centre?

by magicwoman79

Hallo everyone!

Can anyone recommend a medical service in Istanbul, preferably in the central location?
I need to have a minor procedure performed.

I'll be grateful for any recommendations,

Regards,

magicwoman

Hi,

There are private and public hospitals which have a huge difference in cost and care. Although they are much cheaper and less fancy-looking and give less attention, the public ones are mostly better equipped, but English problem is wider.

So I guess you need a small private hospital. I never needed one for a foreigner, but I guess there are more foreign-friendly ones with English speaking personnel.

I have been to German Hospital in Taksim and it is really good and reliable, but I am sure it will not be cheap.

Have you googled in English?

Travel Tips for Istanbul

Taxis around Istanbul

by suzzii

I have been going to Turkey for many years now, just a word of warning about taxis, if your not into rally driving then do not consider taking a taxi, although they are very cheap and you can get one just about anywhere, plus most taxi drivers are very friendly in Istanbul.

Sunsets are always beautifull...

by yakacik

Sunsets are always beautifull and everwhere in the world. They leave you some unforgettable souvenirs and you miss them later on.

Here in Istanbul you have one of them...Go to Usküdar , go to Moda and find one of the several teagardens (any Çay Bahçesi ) and sit and relax and enjoy the panaroma..
One warning our teagardens dont serve alcohols .If you want to also enjoy that then you should go to a restaurant or similar at same area.. Teagardens are mostly outdoor places but most has also an indoor place like my favorite one in Moda
you can there also play cards or backgammon and beat your friends but no gambling is allowed...

VAT- Value added tax

by Heniko

The value-added tax, in Turkey is called KDV, is 17%. Hotels typically combine it with a service charge of 10% to 15%, and restaurants usually add a 15% service charge.
Value-added tax is nearly always included in quoted prices. Certain shops are authorized to refund the tax . So I would say jus ask...

Princes' Islands - Büyükada

by vtveen

For Büyükada take a ferry leaving from Eminonu. During the boat trip you have wonderful views over Istanbul. Cruising over the Sea of Marmara you will get a good impression of the size of the city of Istanbul; it doesn't matter where you look, everywhere you will see a 'sea of houses' along the coast.

After about 1 1/2 hours you have to disembark at the largest island of the so called Princes Islands. You will be welcomed by 'simit' and other street sellers.

During our visit in November it was so quiet on the island; what a difference with 'crazy' Istanbul. After a cup of coffee we decided to walk and to ignore the famous horsedrawn carriages, who are all over the island.

From the ferry we passed the Clock Square and took a climbing road to Hill of Isa with still flowering bougainvillea along the road.

But Istanbul has two parts!!

by kedi+

Usually Europian part of Istanbul being visited but there are very nice places also at the other side.
Europian part is more alive if we compare with the other side. For this case alot of people choose their houses from the other part..
You can find whatever you want also there.. But not Historical Pennisula.. ;)
