The Hilton Istanbul was the first deluxe hotel built in the city (1958). Having been built first, it had the pick of the best sites, which is why it has 13 acres (over 5 hectares) of gardens, with tennis courts and swimming club, and superb views over Dolmabahce Palace to the Bosphorus beyond. The Hilton is only a 15-minute walk north of Taksim Square northwest of Beyoglu, the shopping and nightclub district. Most of the hotel's east-facing rooms have splendid Bosphorus views; the ones looking west overlook the city, which is less inspiring, but not bad. It's also the only top luxury hotel in which every room has its own balcony. It has always been Istanbul's status address for me because of its great location, spacious gardens, and excellent staff plus a congress area which is excellent for dealers meetings
I stayed in Hilton Istanbul last September. The hotel has a pretty nice pool and is surrounded with gardens. Very safe and the service is superb.
I belive it is the only high end hotel in Taksim where each room has balcony. The best rooms are the ones with View of Bosphorus... incredible view. Breakfast in the morning is delicious and generous. Rooms are big even by American standards. Service is impecable. Staff is very helpful and eager to please.
However, be prepared to spend $$$$... tea in the lobby is going to cost you $25 and a bottle of water in the room about $7
Nice hotel although relatively away from the vibrant streets of Istanbul Good for those who mainly interested in attending conventions and business Clean and staff are very kind Breakfast very reasonable Those rooms with bosphorus views are really magnificent although there is a very noisy musical band down the hill starts activity at midnite every nite. I rserved a non-smoking room and really the floor was strictly non-smoking which is not the case with many other hotels. Good health club and swimming pool Lacking in-room coffee and tea making facility The charges for in-room drinks and phone calls are extremely sky-high and propably the highest I have ever seen.
right in the center at Taksim, the Hilton is set back a little in it's own garden and not only therefore is very peacefull. Although of older design, the atmosphere is very roomy/airy. The service is very much in the background, but always there if needed
