Great experience

Stayed there recently and had a great time ,loved the hotel ,it`s lobby ,grounds, gardens ,location ,varities for breakfast in a restaurant overlooking the city and the bosphorous. The room was superb on the Executive floor ,spacious with a comfy huge bed and a big balcony overlooking harbiye and a staduim ,newspaper slipped under the door everyday ,and the monthly kind of time out magazine of all the happenings in town for the month of June from concerts to sport tournaments ,exhibitions ,art ,cultural shows ,shopping , restaurants ...etc. promotions .

Unique Quality: Kindly note that i did not use any of the services offered by the hotel such as health center ,internet or room service as i was tied up outside all day but they are expensive.

Close to the Congress Centre

If one attends a convention or another event at the ICEC congress centre, the Hilton is the best accommodation. In fact there are several other hotels at walking distance, but the Hilton is really next door.
Other luxurious hotels have been built in Istanbul and could beat the Hilton in the competition for the most pampered guests, however the Hilton still ranks very high among the 5-star hotels of Istanbul.

Unique Quality: Situated on the top of a hill, in a park that is considered the largest private garden in the city centre, the hotel has also the advantage of a great view over the Bosphorus, but you must be aware that only half f the rooms are on the side facing the strait. Anyway, even if not from the room, you will be able to enjoy the view at least from the breakfast room, while ejoying the rich buffet.

Hotels in Taksim

I stayed in Hilton Istanbul last September. The hotel has a pretty nice pool and is surrounded with gardens. Very safe and the service is superb.

Unique Quality: I belive it is the only high end hotel in Taksim where each room has balcony. The best rooms are the ones with View of Bosphorus... incredible view. Breakfast in the morning is delicious and generous. Rooms are big even by American standards. Service is impecable. Staff is very helpful and eager to please.

However, be prepared to spend $$$$... tea in the lobby is going to cost you $25 and a bottle of water in the room about $7

Classic

The Hilton Istanbul was the first deluxe hotel built in the city (1958).
Having been built first, it had the pick of the best sites, which is why it has 13 acres (over 5 hectares) of gardens, with tennis courts and swimming club, and superb views over Dolmabahce Palace to the Bosphorus beyond.
The Hilton is only a 15-minute walk north of Taksim Square northwest of Beyoglu, the shopping and nightclub district.
Most of the hotel's east-facing rooms have splendid Bosphorus views; the ones looking west overlook the city, which is less inspiring, but not bad. It's also the only top luxury hotel in which every room has its own balcony.
It has always been Istanbul's status address for me because of its great location, spacious gardens, and excellent staff plus a congress area which is excellent for dealers meetings

Excellent Hotel

Excellent stay....hotel is superb.

Gym is excellent. They also have a tennis court. Restaurants are outstanding - though very expensive (especially the alcohol).

Overall the staff was excellent also.

Unique Quality: Wonderful view of the water over to the Asian side of Istanbul.

The Hilton experience

Nice hotel although relatively away from the vibrant streets of Istanbul
Good for those who mainly interested in attending conventions and business
Clean and staff are very kind
Breakfast very reasonable
Those rooms with bosphorus views are really magnificent although there is a very noisy musical band down the hill starts activity at midnite every nite. I rserved a non-smoking room and really the floor was strictly non-smoking which is not the case with many other hotels.
Good health club and swimming pool
Lacking in-room coffee and tea making facility
The charges for in-room drinks and phone calls are extremely sky-high and propably the highest I have ever seen.

It's a Hilton!

There are two Hiltons in Istanbul. overlooks the Bosphorus. As my husband said -- it's a Hilton. Which is to say modern, clean and without soul!

peacefull

right in the center at Taksim, the Hilton is set back a little in it's own garden and not only therefore is very peacefull. Although of older design, the atmosphere is very roomy/airy. The service is very much in the background, but always there if needed

Taxi from Airport to Hilton Hotel

by HugoJPM

Hi! Can anyone tell me how much will cust the taxi from de Istanbul Airport to the Hilton Istanbul Hotel!? I know that the distance is about 24km (15 miles)! Thanks!!!

RE: Taxi from Airport to Hilton Hotel

right!! the airport bus leaves regularly all day and into the night from outside the terminal and terminates just north of Taksim Square, to get to the Hilton you just continue away from the square (up the hill) cross the traffic light and the hotel is about 200 m along on the right...how easy is that????!

Pennie

I agree with Infinitys and Pennie. A taxi would cost approximately 25 TL which is approximately US$18. Havas is much more reasonable and they are on a regular schedule.
