Hi

There is shuttle bus services. From the airport, take bus number E10 and get off at the last station in Kadikoy. You can find the bus timetable from the below link. Cost is around 2$

http://www.iett.gov.tr/en/saat/hareketsaati.php?hid=hat&hatcode=E-10&a%26=BtnSaatler.x%3D25%26BtnSaatler.y%3D12&imageField2.x=16&imageField2.y=9

From Kadikoy, take ferry to Eminonu. The port name is “Eminonu Iskelesi” and there are ferries in every 30 minutes. It costs 1$. You can walk to Sultanahmet area and takes you 10 minutes or you can take taxi, cost you 4$

Have a nice trip

The easiest way to get to the centre is to take the Havas bus (1 hour, 1 TL) to Taksim, from there you can take a combination of a short underground funicular ride and the tram (1.40 TL each) to Sultanahmet.

Havas bus is an expensive choice and led you far from Sultanahmet. it is much clever to take public bus to Kadikoy than vapur ship.

Could Not Get Enough Of That Turkish Tea!!

by Donna_in_India

Being a coffee lover, I assumed that I was going to love Turkish coffee. But after my first glass of Turkish tea (cay), I was hooked!! We found every excuse to stop in one of the many cafes for a glass or two several times a day - so relaxing!!

Cay is served with sugar but no milk. It is served in a smallish tulip shaped glass (some have handles). There are flavored teas as well - apple, mint, rosehip, etc. but we stayed with the non-flavored tea.

Don't forget to purchase tea leaves to bring home for delicious memories to last long after your trip!

Bring your personal supplies

by Guzzie19

Don't forget to bring your Tylenol or Advil, whatever you use in case of headacke
or hangover ;) It was difficult to me to find some. Electricity runs 220V in Turkey. Try to bring a converter or whatever your camera charger
or cellphone needs to recharge with 220V.

Kadikoy Markets

by Hopkid

I really enjoy walking through markets where the locals buy their meats, produce, seafood, and other everyday items. Typically they are open air markets or stalls on either side of streets busy with shoppers and hawkers yelling out the specials of the day. You really get a sense of the pulse of real life in a destination in such places. Plus they are a photographer's little slice of heaven. Kadikoy has such a market not far from the ferry terminal. Basically situated in the blocks on either side of the intersection of Serasker Caddesi and Güneslibahce Sokak, you'll find meat, produce, pickled vegetables, and lots and lots of fresh seafood. Definitely a lot of fun to walk through and browse. And you won't bump into many other tourists either.

always something somewhere

by vtveen about grand bazaar

There should be more than 4.000 shops in the Grand Bazaar, the biggest ‘souk’ in the world. But it is almost impossible to count and see them all.

You will find different areas with different kinds of tradesmen.

Somewhere in the Grand Bazaar you will always find something (and always have to bargain and to bargain again…).
