Amazing stay at Hotel Trend - thank you Sinan!!

    by

I stayed at the Hotel Trend Istanbul for 6 days at the end of June and had a fantastic time.
The hotel is located in a really convenient position, just 2 minutes from the tram stop which takes you around all of the main sites (Sultanahmet, Grand Bazaar, Taksim and up to the pier to get you over to the Asian side of Istanbul etc.)

The hotel is quite a no frill establishment but it is run very well, was clean and had a lovely roof top pool – great for cooling down and relaxing after a busy day site seeing. My hotel room was small, although I was a single traveller and I think that they had larger rooms for couples etc – but it was big enough for me, with AC and heating for the winter and the bathroom was well equipped.

Being a lone female traveller, I was slightly apprehensive about travelling alone at first but soon realised that there was absolutely no need. The hotel staff were very, very professional, polite and friendly. They couldn’t do enough for you and were very helpful. The day manager Sinan was amazing! He was very helpful and friendly and would spend a great deal of time advising visitors on where to go and what to see. He spoke good English and each day he would guide me on the best places to visit, where to eat and what to do, even drawing out mini maps for me to show me the best routes to take!

On my first night I managed to cut my foot on glass (outside of the hotel) and the evening manager whose name I forget and Erkan, one of the hotel workers were brilliant – Erkan came with me to the hospital to make sure everything ran smoothly and ensured I got a tetanus injection. – This would have been a very daunting experience should I have had to go alone.

The hotel as free wifi which was really useful - although signal was best by the pool or at reception and provides you with a free complimentary breakfast which had a great selection – a traditional Turkish breakfast of bread, olives, cheese and salad and watermelon, jams, spreads and cereals. – More than enough choice for even the most fussy of eaters.

Next time I’m in Istanbul I will certainly stay here again. Thank you Sinan!!!
