Pamphylia Hotel was a great choice for our stay in Istanbul. We received free airport pick up and a 10% discount for the 10 days spent there.
I loved the spacious double room we received, though we didn't have an extraordinary view. However, on Turkey's national day, the receptionist gave us the keys to a room from where we could see all the fireworks. :)
Clean rooms, friendly staff but no idea about breakfast as we always ate out.
Unique Quality: What I loved about this hotel was the fact that the tram station was 1 minute away, and then another few minutes to reach Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque.
I stayed there 3 years ago. This is the best hotel in Istanbul in a reasonable price.
Every information is on the site.
It is not only at the center of town, also it is at the center of all sigthseeing places!!!
Only 5 or 10 min. on foot!!
If you are a student or backpack traveller, this is the most convenient one!!
Unique Quality: Great views, at the center of center of center!! :))
10 min. to sultanahmet (bluemosque), 2 min. to grandbazaar, 5 min. to st.sophia, 5 min. to topkapý place!!!
Directions: Ask anyone at the exit door of grand bazaar!!
i stayed here 2 times in double rooms and each time the room cost 25 euros a night (so 12.5 euros per person a night), but you have to bargain a lot. they like to bargain and you have to offer a lower price for the room than the one you want to pay.
staff was very friendly and both rooms very clean with bathroom and blow dryer (although it's so hot there you probably won't need it)
Directions: close to the sultanahmet district
We got this hotel for a pretty good rate in relation to other hotels. It's location is really good, only a minute or two from the Blue Mosque and Divan Yolu Cadessi in Sultanahmet. It isn't really fancy, and is a small hotel, but I found it to be adequate. The first thing that you will notice is that the elevator (lift) is extremely small, it can only handle about 2 people, but the porter will take your bags up to your room by stairs. The rooms have some odd configurations, we got a bedroom and a sitting room. In addition, the shower was in one room and the toilet (WC) was in another one. Although it was quirky, I didn't mind. The water does have sulfur though, so you shouldn't drink it. There were no real complaints with the hotel, the decor is a bit old, but the service they provide is good, it has a good breakfast, and the location cannot be beat. All this for a pretty low rate, and I think that most people will find Pamphylia good for Istanbul, especially since you should spend most of your time there exploring the city, rather than sitting in a hotel room.
Unique Quality: Very simple, no minibar, pool, etc. The TV is small and has mostly Turkish channels.
Directions: The Hotel provides free pick-up from the airport if you ask, I believe.
