ok hotels in Istanbul
We stayed in 4 hotels in Istanbul.
The best located was the park hotel opposite the 4 seasons
the others closer to the palace than the mosque (not very far away - all are easy walking)they were Denizkonak (I think from memory) and the sultans inn.
All were ok 3 star nice people, basically clean and ok service with fair breakfasts.
Nearer to the Grand bazaar was the pierre noir or name similiar - a little dearer but really a 4 star but you get more but overall -they all were not bad.
If you going site seeing find somewhere in the sultanamet area and just walk. Dont get too excited about tours its all there no need for buses etc.
tips: most hotels will arrange transfers to from airport & prices vary so ask before booking.
It seems the hotels will take all bookings then if they have too many then they have a "plumbing problem" and take you to a sister hotel the sister hotels are very similiar hence our 3 budget hotels.(they TAKE you so you dont get lost etc)
Lots of agencies for tours in sultanamet area so out of town trips are apiece of cake.
Have a great trip & bring home great memories
