Taksim accomodation
The Larespark Hotel in Taksim, we booked to stay 1 month but left after just a few days, we had Jewellery taken from our room, the staff have no customer service skills at all and look to the Hotel guests as if they are a bother rather than that it is the Hotel guests that keep these people in a job, they do not smile, say hello, you have no feeling of being welcome at all.
I would never stay in this Hotel again, when you pay good money to stay in Hotel, you at least expect good service and not to have your things stollen.

Unique Quality: swimming pool was cold, bar was acceptable but the barman is too much in your face and in the end you become so sick of him that you just leave.
Breakfast food was very poor and service again is bad.
Opinion of Price: more expensive than average

Helpfulness
4 star stuff
Good rooms - comfortable and well decorated. Food was fine - big buffet breakfast and quick room service. It has a small fitness centre, including indoor pool.
Unique Quality: Location just off Taksim Square, so good for all Beyoðlu area.

Larespark Hotel Taksim Istanbul Photo: bit messy, but you get the idea!
It is part of Larespark Hotel. You can sit on the pavement or inside (in summer anyway), and its a quiet street so outside is fine.
Service and food were good, but halfway through a live band started up in the bar just inside. Not my style, and it certainly made me "eat and go". I'm sure some will like it. I had a very good squid salad, then chicken schnitzel with potato salad. Local white wine was good too.

I stayed in Hilton Istanbul last September. The hotel has a pretty nice pool and is surrounded by gardens. Very safe and the service is superb. I belive it is only high end hotel in Taksim where each room has balcony. about 5-7 mins walk to Taksim square. The best are rooms with View of Bosphorus... incredible view. Very pricy though.
