The Legend delivered what it promised. It's a 3-star hotel and fits very squarely into that bracket: TV (mostly Turkish channels, one fascinating Azeri channel), minibar, etc. It was clean and efficient, though our room was decorated with dark colours and not well lit, so not somewhere you wanted to spend vast periods of time. Service is good, but not overly friendly.
It's key advantage is that it occupies a great location for seeing all the main sights in Sultanahmet. You can walk easily in minutes to the Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern and busy streets for eating and shopping. The Grand Bazaar is just slightly further away. Yet the street it's on is quiet.
Some 3-star hotels are bargains, filled with character and nice touches. The Legend is not one of these, but it is good value for money and for the sake of its convenience I would stay again.
The view from the roof terrace is outstanding (and is mentioned in the Lonely Planet as one of the city's best). The rooftop bar wasn't open when I visited, but I was still able to go up at night and get some great pictures of Sultanahmet's skyline.
